Poll of the Day > In this day and age, how hard do you think it is for writers to break out?

My friend, two years out of film-school, had a script pitch on Monday. It initially was going, however, for some reason they decided to not move forward with it. I was trying to console him, that most directors, writers, producers, are a-list or already have a hand in the Hollywood business.

However, apparently one of his friends, was out and about writing on big-name writer boards and I guess he feels like a failure?

So I bring this to you GFAQS. Topic?

In this day and age you shouldn't be pitching yourself, people should seek you out. Tell him to self publish some of his work and see if he gets any bites from people looking to give him a chance on something bigger. If not at least he can make some coin off of his self-published stuff.
