Started today and had to do orientation on the computer. I'm guessing it was supposed to take only like 2 hours or something, but I was there for 5 hours and still didn't finish. I was asked to come tomorrow to finish it.
I had to sit through a lot of videos and read a bunch of crap. It was tedious as hell. I was close to falling asleep a few times. I watched through everything and read through most of it. A lot of them didn't even have quizzes. But the reason why I feel like I have a learning problem is because I feel like my brain can't handle too much information at once. It becomes very overwhelming for me. It's hard to explain. I guess my brain just feels foggy and I feel insecure with everything I do for some reason. This isn't the first time I feel this way. I quit 2 other jobs in the past because I simply couldn't do it or felt way too overwhelmed. I honestly believe anyone can do those things but I feel it's very difficult for me. Which is weird because I can do computer stuff just fine and I've done 3D animation (basic stuff though). I'm not going to quit though. I really need this job. I'll just stay with it and see what happens. I'm not setting up myself for failure or anything. I'm simply being realistic. The worst thing about this is, that I haven't even started doing any real work there yet (customer service job). I can only imagine how bad I'll do my job. What do you think? I just feel bad right now. Oh well. edit: I should note that I've had 2 successful jobs. I would still be working in one of them but I had to quit because of health reasons at the time. --- #pipebomb_phil https://imgur.com/atWQoAs ... Copied to Clipboard!

I used to daydream at work all the time, didn't help the fact I was operating heavy machinery. Needless to say, I got fired repeatedly.
Perhaps you're getting bad vibes from other people in your work environment? Cause that's how I used to feel. --- "how hard is it for people to understand that not everything you read will be something you agree with?" - Awesome ... Copied to Clipboard!

Also, I should mention that I think I've felt this way with every job I've had. I always felt like I was doing a bad job (I did in one of them but they kept me anyways once I got the hang of it). Maybe I'm just insecure. --- #pipebomb_phil https://imgur.com/atWQoAs ... Copied to Clipboard!

Today was my 2nd day and I felt much better. I was nervous learning how to use the register but I quickly got the hang of it. The experience made me feel more confident. I still have a lot to learn though. But I went from "this job isn't for me. I need to quit" to "yeah, I think I can do this."

It sounds to me that you're the kind of individual who needs some hands-on experience with a job to become comfortable with it. I'd just let your immediate supervisor know that and to have them practice with you when you get some downtime and have you run through a process or three.
