I struggle in the same ways and I'm also introverted. I'm unrelatable, but I feel like a lot of that is my perception... like I'm not that unrelatable. I just assume I am but maybe people relate to me more than I realize, but when I actually let myself go and have the energy to mingle and try, people flock to me and I don't fucking get. I chalk it up to being wasted and having that wasted charisma, but I run into the same folks later at times and I'm like "oh god what dumb shit did I do when I was fucked up that I'm about to be made fun of for" and then they talk to me like I'm one of the gang and I'm all awkward and like "ha yeah, cool shit." but in the back of my head, I don't know if I'm being 100% accepted or 100% fucked with. It always leans to the former. Seems like they are never fucking with me. They're always just cool with me. I don't know how to deal with that though because I don't feel like I have shit in common. That's just me venting, but I do feel like this is maybe something you can relate to and if so, I want to offer my own experience as best I can and I'm always looking for any insight that I might be able to find relevance with in exchange. Just don't give up though. I've got over a decade on you and I probably wouldn't have had the nerve to post a topic like this here a decade ago on account of not wanting to show any sense of vulnerability. I would have just stuck to my usual drunken shtick. There's no such thing as being too old to be misunderstood. There's no such thing as being too old to misunderstand. Don't get too discouraged.
