Its a very broad question. You can be vague saying something like action, or RPGs. Or very specific down to a game with a character a specific name. Or by game mechanics like you like to be stealthy. Or by saying you like game kind of like another specific games. So, go, I guess...

Your* not tour...

Any form of RPG, with a particular weakness for stuff like Divinity & Diablo.
The Why is I like builds & theorycrafting. I really enjoy making synergy between skills and creating a single character in a party game that can completely solo most encounters. I used to play D3 Seasons every season but it's a lot of work for me these days.

Hmm....basically just JRPGs and Survival Horror.

That means RE, SH, FF (up to 10), Tales of, Star Ocean and of course D3 (only because of good teammates and leaderboards)

Open-world exploration titles. Most things with a big map and areas to explore are fun.

Action RPGs

Mass Effect, Assassins Creed Origins/Odyssey, Fallout, Witcher, even the Sims I kinda see as an action RPG even though its branded as lifestyle sim or whatever.

Just something I can get myself lost deep in and really sink my teeth into it

These days, I suppose adventure games with RPG elements. Alas, too many are full of political BS instead of compelling stories and thrilling gameplay.

The kinds that require a good amount of skill and practice to really exceed at. Nothing is more fun for me than to really master something after a lot of nuanced practice and developing skills in it, and that goes for more than just video games. I just like challenge in general.

Aside from that, I adore JRPGs even if they are easy.

Hmm hard to say I'm pretty open to all game types other than puzzles (tetris and similar)

Anything close to resembling a side scrolling beat em up or a 3d hack n slash I generally like though. So a vague answer I guess action.

But it does vary on my mood and my answer might be influenced by the fact I've recently been playing Castlevania

I do love exploring large open worlds, though.

Sure is :)

Just off the top of my head you have Axiom Verge, Guacamelee, Sundered, Dust, Timespinner, Chasm, Iconoclasts, Ori (though I haven't played those . They look fantastic), La-Mulana, Owlboy... I'm sure there's a ton more. Oh, Hollow Knight and Salt & Sanctuary... It really has been quite good the past few years.

Chasm is probably the weakest out of the ones I mentioned and it's still decent.

Mostly Metroidvanias, but I like HARD games typically since I play games for the self-achievement.

Turn-based Role Playing Games with a heavy focus on story.
They don't have to be Japanese, but they have to be Turn-based.
They have to be heavily story focused with a 20+ hour narrative.

Geez, I'd probably have a different answer every day. Action adventure is always good. Puzzlers keep you busy for a very long time. I suppose above all that though my most played genre would be platformers.

Really it's easier to list what I don't play. Sports, MMO's, simulations, and fighters.

Idk, RPGs, but I guess some sub-genre I could say is probably Monster Taming/Raising games? I replay the old pokemon games evey once in awhile, I love the the DQ/W Monsters games(wish I never lost my Joker1/2 copies, so expensive on Ebay now) I sometimes replay Digimon World every once in awhile, same as Monster Rancher games. I almost beat SMT Nocturne but I got doinked at that Haraguwsa or whatever and kinda put it off for awhile, I should go beat that some day.
