Little Mermaid. Also wasn't Mulan already announced as getting a live-action version? Or is this just a criticism of that fact?

Otherwise I would love to see a live-action Hercules (mostly for the 3D hydra and titans... and maybe James Wood could still play Hades!) and a live-action Pocahontas would be interesting although likely too controversial since iirc the original took some flack.

Hercules would transition well but we already have many live action Hercules films. Still I voted that.

they would clearly change pocahontas a ton. bet they would still have her be much older than she actually was though.

hercules and ariel are related, maybe they could do both

Because it'd be kinda neat. While I initially scoffed at the LA Disney movies, I really liked The Jungle Book. Plus the new Pete's Dragon was surprisingly great. Even Beauty and the Beast wasn't bad.

Pretty much this, with the exception of Maleficent. I really enjoyed that one because they actually did something unique rather than just a shot for shot copy.

same thing goes with The Hunchback of Norte Dame. Which it was a famous movie for a long time. Hell it was even a broadway play before a Disney movie.

Michael J. Fox has Parkinson's; so I seriously doubt that he could physically handle a live adaption of "Atlantis". Also Leonard Nimoy, who played the father of the princess of Atlantis, is dead as well; so that's two parts that they'd have to recast.

I've heard that Disney plans a sequel for Maleficent, which should be interesting. I think that Disney's next live action animated movie should be "Anastasia" which they bought when they acquired Fox.

See, I might be okay with that. I'd actually say that could work with the Burton treatment and everything. Unlike Alice in Wonderland which was horrible, and I fear for dumbo as well.

That's actually really amusing since Anastasia was a film by Don Bluth, who was an animator at Disney until he told them to fuck off and left to start his own company.

With Aristocats being almost entirely animals, I just can't really see it as being live-action as it'd be mostly CGI'd animals, much like the remake of The Jungle Book and The Lion King.

Is it, though? Sooner or later, Disney seems to own everything >_>

At any rate, this still doesn't mean that Princess Daphne will be a Disney princess... yet.

Beauty and the Beast too. But it's not really the same thing. Taking a Disney version of a story and making live action is like colorizing black-and-white films.

It's kinda of worse than that. At least colorization techniques try to match what's there. Live action remakes of cartoons will often add or change elements of scenes to the point where the characters are altered, or the point of a scene or overall plot are lost.

The recent live action of Beauty and the Beast? It was heavy-handed in such alterations.
