8.2 average so far seems everyone's generally positive on it. As someone who's no longer hardcore pokemon fan and just enjoys the collecting aspect of it this is a game I've been looking forward to trying out

Pokemon Let's GO ushers in a brand new era for the Pokemon brand and I couldn't think of a better way for the core franchise to makes its debut on the Nintendo Switch. The game's mechanics perfectly rides the wave of success of the Pokemon GO phenomenon. Some core fans will be disappointed and that's completely fine, but the direction of Let's GO Pokemon is clear and it succeeds in its mission to provide a simple, yet addictive Pokemon game that can be enjoyable for all gamers. It's Pokemon at its addictive best and the only option is to set out and Catch 'Em All.

EGM - 8.5/10
Pokmon: Lets Go, Eevee! may be a remake of the oldest Pokmon games in the series, but it shakes up the standard Pokmon formula more than any of the main games since. With a catching system reminiscent of Pokmon Go, an adorable Eevee or Pikachu partner, multiplayer, and gorgeous graphics, the Lets Go games have something to offer for every Pokmon fan, though the games changes may be just different enough to throw off the nostalgia for returning players.

Pokmon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are beautiful reimaginings of a video game classic, updating a 20-year-old game in ways which make it infinitely more accessible and user-friendly for a modern audience, while keeping the magic first discovered all those years ago. On the downside, the newly-introduced motion control mechanic is fun but flawed, forcing us to shift from one play style to another to get the best experience, and while efforts have been made to bring the game up to the standard of more recent entries when it comes to depth and complexity, hardcore fans may consider the whole experience too much of a cakewalk. Still, the game does a superb job of striking a balance between being an easy route of entry for newcomers to the series and offering just enough post-game challenge and competitive play elements (and nostalgia, of course) to please series veterans; as a result, these new titles really do offer something for everyone, which can't always be said of the mainline Pokmon entries. They might not be an absolute masterpiece, but we'd urge any Pok-fans out there to give these ones a go if a Let's Go Johto sequel is on the cards, we'll happily be there waiting in line.

I can't believe it took Game Freak over 20 years to give us an RPG-oriented console Pokmon game, but with the ever-changing mobile landscape and the success of the Switch, the opportunity finally presented itself. No, Let's Go is not the mainline entry that EV/IV min-maxers hoped for, but that's still on the way. If you happen to miss this return to Kanto, that's perfectly fine, but I was mostly delighted to go back.

Experienced Pokmon players might also find the game too easy. My Pokmon only fainted five times, and the last two were in the marginally more difficult battles with the Elite Four. If you have any knowledge of how Pokmon types work, and what types of Pokmon are strong or weak against other types, youll be getting a lot of one-hit KOs. If you make your Pokmon eat enough Quick Candies, you probably wont take any damage at all.

It looks like a bad game, it looks like the developers put 0 love and 0 effort into it, and its really sad. As someone who willingly bought pokemon dash, its hard for me to understand how everyone isn't sickened by this obvious cash grab.

How is Let's Go and Quest "way less effort" than something like Ultra Sun/Moon? The latter is practically the same game as the game released the year before.

Got it preordered and am hyped to play it. Ive had some mad Pokemon fatigue for a while now. Skipped AS/OR and Sun/Moon and Im struggling to get through Ultra Sun. Just cant get into it like I used to.

Thinking about it, I have generally enjoyed the spin-off games more than the mainline for a while now. Should really pick up Detective Pikachu at some point.

This is a studio that has as much money to work with as zelda and mario and they gave us a grid map and square lakes and 1 to 1 town designs. Its like those awful youtube videos where they show us what OoT's world or SM64's world would look like in hd. It looks soulless and has zero creativity attached. This isn't a case of the visual style not appealing to me, it just objectively lacks any sort of identity or style to appeal.

Am I allowed to mourn my favorite series dying? I mean sure I won't buy it and that's fine, but its still a huge bummer. Maybe in 10 years we will get a good Pokemon again, but I am going to miss this series until then

Yeah the pokemon out of the ball touch is awesome but they made all the models for those back in sun and moon and never used them.

I'll also say the drop in mechanic looks cool too, if it was fully realized it could get me to overlook some flaws with the game, like letting another user on the switch log in and use the team from their own save file, or letting the second player actually interact with the world in some way. As it is though, its just one of many half cooked ideas

Gen 1 doesn't specifically mean Kanto

It can also mean the Gen 1 pokemon which are whored out constantly

Besides from the mode where you get to interact with Pikachu or Eevee, and the fact they added about a dozen more ridable Pokemon than were available in Sun and Moon, this looks like the laziest game Gamefreak has produced yet.

I feel like Pokemon peaked at Gen 5 and it has been downhill ever since. The 3D models of X/Y were nice, but Gen 5 is the last time I got really into Pokemon. Gen 1 has just been so played out already even if it has been a while since the last real Gen 1 game. Go was all Gen 1 for a while and Alola had tons of Gen 1 forms while ignoring lots of the other games. At this point I just want to see the next gen or a remake of DPP
