I watched Bram Stokers Dracula last night. I've seen the movie many times. It's got a lot of cheese and bad acting from Keanu Reeves but it has some incredible scenes and imagery that cement it as a classic. Gary Oldman as Dracula is fantastic.

I personally think it's the best Vampire movie.

But I'd like suggestions for others.

Just don't watch Queen of the Damned, which is technically a sequel but isn't worth anyone's time.

But, that red headed chick is hot in that plaid dress.

Yeah the whole movie is a train wreck and takes a giant shit on the source material. I can find some enjoyment in it by imagining that it's a movie made by Lestat, so he's rewriting a bit to make himself look better, and being such an arrogant prick, actually thinks the whole thing is a masterpiece.

The soundtrack is pretty great.

It's a pretty wide genre because it can be mixed with literally anything.

For action, Blade and John Carpenter's Vampire are pretty tight and fight.

Aesthetically, Interview With a Vampire, Blade II, etc are pretty good.

Dracula is great, if a bit cheesy.

Also, 30 Days of Night was a decent horror flick, too.

No, it's solid. Honestly, all the actors are pretty decent, even Reeves isn't that bad (considering the whole character is utterly clueless and kind of an idiot in the book itself).

My main complaint would be the weird, tacked on love story and origin story, which sort of feels like they are trying to make the story more relatable, but it just sort of flubbed the whole story. Aesthetically, though, it's a great adaptation of the original movie.

It is a very good movie but hugely brought down imo by reeves and Ryder.
