Ultimates featured Online mode looks like total garbage ( at least until you unlock elite battles)...but why is it that Sakurai can't make a decent online mode when Fucking Bamco is there helping him make it.

"Hey Tekken/ Soulcalibur/ DBZF guy, how do you make a good online mode" is all it will take, but no, Saks wants to do his own shit.

Instead of setting up a list of preferences and match up with people of similar/ same preferences, you get matched up based on ONE PREFERENCE and fuck all the others

Who does that shit? Boneheaded people. Sm4sh Online was one of the worst online experiences I've ever had, but it was still a decent concept that could've had great improvements.

Sakurai main issue is that he has too much control and thus takes all the blame, good or bad.

What he should do is have a co-developer or whatever and forsee each other's ideas and methods so that you can halve the blame and double the praise.

Smash stages tend to have a lot of subtle nods and logical structures. They're just as big of a nod to a series as characters are, just that competitive likes simple stages with no walls, and stages end up being the unsung hero. In any case a Smash stage is probably a lot more complicated to conceptualize than a traditional fighter's flat plain stages.

In any case, people like ALLCAPS will probably never land on anywhere near projects like these because he's too incompetent to see that it's not even the matter of having multiple people at the helm rather it's a lot more efficient to have a certain number of people developing a stage.

Think about it, if one person develops a single stage then it would take him like 10 months let's say, due to planning, doing the concept art, designing the structure and textures, designing and inserting the physics (say leaves fall through the direction of the wind as well as a thin flag signifying the direction of that wind like in battlefield), creating and inserting sounds, making sure the background layer and the arena itself makes sense in the grand scheme of things, etc.

Then a team of people, 1-3 people in charge of ironing out the physics, 1-3 people in charge of doing the sounds, 1-2 people doing the design and conceptualization, 1-3 people doing the textures and models and animations, 1-2 people overseeing things by parts and scheduling take a good few weeks to months to finish, perhaps revisiting the balance of the stage, tweaking things so they fit according to the feel of the game, etc.

Then you'll be like, well if it took 1 person 10 months to finish a stage, why would you need more than 10 people to finish a stage in 1 month? Well sir if you took 10 months to develop a single stage, how fucking long would it take to develop a game with 100+ stages in it? That is to say, 10 months is frankly generous and one person usually doesn't have the skillset and the level of polish on each of those skillset to make something competent. Most likely if 1 person worked on a stage, you'd not only take longer in terms of time it took/person, the quality of the stages will probably take a big hit

Division of labor is fundamental in any industry. To suggest something like this should be done by one guy says a lot about a person.

Sadly this post is probably too much effort for guys like him. Either he's trolling or probably unable to understand it all anyways

The removal of trophies was extremely stupid. Its a staple of the series and many people enjoyed collecting trophies. Personally, Ive spent a lot of time in the trophy gallery reading the descriptions and listening to the nice music.

That's because Bamco themselves don't even know how to make a good online mode anymore.

Tekken 7 was absolutely trash and when I brought this to Harada's attention he though it was just my fiber optic connection acting up, fucker.

Melee had an excuse due to lack of storage space. There's no excuse in 2018 to have more clones.

No, Melee's excuse was that it was extremely rushed, made in only 13 months (and Sakurai literally almost died because of his work schedule). If Sakurai had more time, there would have been more unique characters.

And clones tend to happen due to time constraints. Those clones not being there does not mean that you would have even half the number of unique characters to fill the void; in fact, it's possible that it was the clones or nothing at all.

This is true, and in some cases, Melee's handcrafted Trophies were genrally of even higher quality than the later ones ported from existing games.

For example, the Marin Trophy in Melee vs. the Ilia Trophy in Brawl. Despite being made several years earlier, Marin just looks much better than the Ilia model does. Now, I admit that this is the foot fetish in me noting this detail, but Marin's feet have individual toes or at least grooves to make them look like it; Ilia's model has no such thing, as it's just a texture (in fact, this is true with Pit's feet in Brawl as well).

I feel like trophies could stayed. I think Sm4sh had about 600 of them, problem was is that he made trophies for both versions of Sm4sh when it could been a advertising point for the Wii u

They should just make 3 trophies per Character that best describes them/ their franchise + a Final Smash trophy

Smash Wii U actually did this. Every fighter got three Trophies, the third being their Final Smash Trophy.

And the Trophy count in the Wii U version is over 700.
