No. I never played the first one, and didn't care to.

I don't care how "award winning" it was. I am not into Cowboy games. I think it is stupid as hell. Just my opinion.

I also never played a single Grand Theft Auto game in my life.

Just isn't my cup of tea.

I play games to dive into completely new and unusual worlds. I don't mind if they are grounded in reality a little bit....but there needs to be some kind of sci-fi or fantasy spin to keep my interest. Or does something insanely unique.

Red Dead Redemption seems like every western movie ever made. Just in video game format.

Nope, not played the first, id like to but im too lazy, that and ive never been the biggest fan of the gta games though i think thats more to do with the setting they're in rather than the gameplay, so im sure id like red dead much more.

I do have the first on ps3 which i bought when they first announced the second, but having just finished assassins creed odyssey i dont really fancy playing another game right away thats will take 20+hours and i like it that much the second which could take double.

I liked the first one, but didnt really play it all the much because I was in college at the time, and was just way too busy.

I kinda wish they'd put the first one on PC or something so that I could play it.

I dunno if I'll get rdr2 unless it comes to PC. I do have a PS4, but obviously it would probably run better on PC, so I'd like to wait for that.

I used to love GTA until four came out, then it just got stale. I played gta5, and it was fun, but it wasn't the same as the old gta games, and I didn't really like it as much

Nope. I probably won't, either. I never played the first. I did watch a friend play a little and it seemed interesting, but not enough for me to get it. That being said, it was much better when watching Outside Xbox play it. I'll probably just watch them play it...

Yes, but for my brother, too.

I wanted a physical copy for myself, because I love the series including Revolver. Redemption 1 was my favorite game last gen. Haven't opened the physical copy of RDR2 although I might because I think there's preorder bonus codes inside.

But I've been playing the digital version. My brother and I game-share on PS4, but I do most of the buying because he's broke as fuck. So, I bought the digital version so we could share it. Really enjoying it so far but the tutorial opening missions are a bit tedious as someone pointed out. Game gets much better once you're free to go as you will. Although I did encounter one annoying thing... I'll try to keep this spoiler-free.

I was on a mission and had to fight a group of dudes that were camped out in the woods, then search a cabin for their leader. Well, I took out the gang, but one of them ran off into the woods. I gave chase and wanted to bring him in alive for questioning or whatever but never got the chance. Shot him in the leg and he started limping, but as I got closer I got a warning that I was leaving the mission area. Kept after the dude but it failed me and I had to re-do the whole firefight section over. Turns out you can't wander too far from the cabin.

I hope not every mission locks you into a small area like that. Was pretty frustrating for a supposedly "open-world" game.

I like it, oddly, as I am not a fan of Rockstar's products usually. The walking/finer movements are absolutely terrible though. Like Tomb Raider 1 bad.

Yes and I'm really enjoying it. I already think it's better than GTA V and probably the best game R* has put out since the PS2 era. It certainly has it's flaws but nothing major. I don't know if it's better than Witcher 3 for me though but I'm not that far into it so hard to say.

It certainly starts slow but I often find most great games or even films do the same. This is the first R* game I actually feel myself role playing in though.
