I said it was good that Saudi are finally coming under pressure. But it is dumb that we're so accustomed to war in the middle east that the Saudi Yemen campaign, despite being particularly awful (what with the cholera and all) didn't stir up anything like the waves the Khashoggi killing did.

What horrifies people about the Khashoggi killing is it happened in a consulate, which is supposed to be a safe place. It's the same reason the American public was horrified by Pearl Harbor but felt mass firebombing of civilian cities in Japan and Germany was okay.
