Exactly.

It's not Chris's fault though he's gotten the short end of the stick with the writing in all his games though. He does almost nothing memorable in any of the games he's in from what I recall.

Also doesn't help that he goes 2,3, CV, 4, without an appearance.

Nah, I've learned not to overreact to what people say is a "bad" Squall performance.

People thought Squall was doomed against Auron after that match, but it looks pretty good right now...!

Squall gets anti-voted, so he's not going to go as high on a blowout as he otherwise might for his strength, same as Cloud or Sephiroth. Plus, with the lowered vote totals, going super high on a blowout is harder. We might not see anyone break 80% this contest.

And I'm a little wary of reading too much into Zelda/Ezio, especially after Bowser/Gordon.

...Because he is?

He barely lost to Vincent the year before KH2 came out, and Vincent is probably not immune from the slide Cloud and Sephiroth have been on, if CBIX is any indication.

You can argue Squall's dropped recently, too, but not by as much as Vincent has.

This is one where the stats absolutely cost me.

Without looking at the stats I had Bayonetta winning three matches.

Oh well, this is at least proof that Smash 4 is absolutely going to help Cloud.

Only reason I picked against Bayo was because I thought Smash might hurt her or at least not help due to how hated she is.

Now that we know it has helped HER, it's got to do wonders for Cloud.

Yeah, my problem was that I didn't believe enough in a Smash boost. Action game characters can do really well (much better than the games they come from) because of design and just being cool. Dante's the biggest example of that, of course, but Bayo seems like she's the next big one.

Removing the Noble Nine (except for Sephiroth) from the main bracket and putting them in the Legends Bracket makes it even harder for someone to break 80%. At that point, you're asking for a non-Noble Niner to break 80% and that's only happening against turbo fodder.

Yeah, that's also true. Sephiroth might be a bit too anti-voted at this point to hit 80% as well, although maybe he can lay some villain SFF on Wesker or something.

I think it looks fine as it ever has. I'm not sure what you were expecting from him. All evidence of other more recent characters is this is most likely more Drake dropping than Tails boosting.
