The long awaited sequel! 101 Characters from a variety of anime and manga have been nominated by CE, but only one of them will win.

Rules

Right now, you can save 1 character an hour.

Right now, characters only need 6 saves from 6 different users to be safe.

Characters are saved based on the order in your post, so it's advised to save your favorites first.

The last remaining character will be eliminated.

Rallying, editing/deleting posts and attempting to cheat with alts is forbidden. This will lead to a ban.

In the first Save That Anime and Manga Character, Homura went out at 87th. Coming back and taking 4th in the sequel is one hell of an underdog story.

Also would have been cool if the winners of both Save that Anime and Manga Characters were both Timestop users.

I don't know how much the vote trading helped Homura, but I'm okay with her coming this far.

She had a pretty strong following even without any vote trading. You, me, and Marth for sure were helping her even without vote trades. I think (just a guess) Gallis was as well, though he didn't start until the later rounds, so he must have had other higher priorities in the earlier rounds before he started saving Homura.

Same, seeing him make it this far was cool. I think the Index 3 hype helped him a lot, plus having his own spin-off announced a few days ago certainly didn't hurt either.

I'd also like to say I'm super happy Kuwabara made it this far. He may not be my fav from the show, but all 4 main Yu Yu Hakusho characters are my all time favs in general, and I honestly was not expecting him (or any) of Team Urameshi to make it this far. Especially when Yusuke took that early hit in the 50s, I didn't think the other 3 would last long.

Depends. I'm playing around with how I want to handle returning vets, and activity in this game was down after retiring the top 20 of the first one. So I'm thinking about letting everyone be allowed back in should I do 3.

That's how I'm thinking right now. Encourage new faces, but not bar vets from returning. But I'm not sure, and I got plenty of time to think over how to do it.

As for next time... maybe just make a rule that requires a certain percentage of the field to be newcomers? If we're doing the same total field of 100 characters, make it so that at least X of them (I'd say 40, but you can decide on what that number would be) must be brand new entries that took part in neither of the past two contests.

I feel like that's too restricting tbh.

Having it just be free-for-all noms let's people decide for themselves who they want in, new peeps or old peeps. I feel like it's best to let the players kinda shape the pool instead of trying to force boundaries, cause then you risk peeps losing interest.

You can always just encourage people to pick new people.

Also, I guess if you really wanted to restrict how many old faces come in, you could limit people to using only 1 or 2 of their 7 noms on returning competitors. That'd probably be easier than trying to set a percentage or something.
