Natalie: Brings back memories, huh?
Monk: Yeah...but what are you gonna do?

I think it took a bit of a dip when Sharona left overall but some of the best episodes/scenes happened after Natalie joined the party. What I like is how wholesome and heartfelt it is, how likable the main characters are, and how it remains interesting and exciting despite being so wholesome. Monk is just a great character and a great show. I hope they do a reunion show/movie (a gift,) even if those dont always turn out great (and a curse).

Sincerely,

Sarah Silverman Monks biggest fan

My favorite endings to a Monk episode is when Monk just solves the case at the last possible second

like the episode where Monk Sharona and Benji are on vacation, and Benji sees witness a hotel maid getting murdered, and at the end, Monk is kicked out of the hotel without solving it, and they leave, but immediately returns and shows the hotel manager a picture of the trio with three trunks behind them in the lobby, but there are now 4 trunks in the same spot, and that's where the dead body is.

Yes! Its one of the best examples of hero wins that Ive seen. Seriously. And he goes up against really bad odds sometimes (often).

Its awesome seeing Melora Hardin as Trudy, too. (Jan in The Office [Am.]) It is hard not to see her as Jan which is fun but dang shes a chameleon because she plays her role here well. Did not at all remember it was her who was Trudys actor.

I liked watching Monk with my dad but honestly I don't remember much about it, it was kind of a gimmicky "lol he touches lamp posts when he walks by and wipes his hands down after he shakes people's hands" sort of deal but nothing about it really stands out.

I quit watching right there, the show felt like it was just falling apart. Still haven't watched the rest except for the ending a couple of years later which turned out to be a complete wet fart.

I even bought all the DVDs and that's like six seasons that have sat on my shelf unwatched for years and years. I really should watch them someday since I loved the show up until Sharona left, but you know, DVDs. I have to put a disc in my PS4, and it's not even in HD. Like who has that kinda willpower these days

also I don't have Netflix because I broke up with my girlfriend and she's since changed the password and my parents canceled it years ago and I'm not about to start paying for it myself even though I can afford it because wah wah wah wah wah

I absolutely love Monk. I feel like I saw the whole series like 2.5 times. I don't think the first season is particularly as great as the rest of the series though. I preferred Natalie's presence more for one thing, and the production value and the writing sorta got better over time

Monk is definitely the very pinnacle of "eccentric police consultant" dramas, and we've even had Satan and Nathan Fillion in that genre.

You really should watch the one after Sharona left.. she and her son definitely had better/more believable interactions w/ Monk, but a lot of the episodes after dove further into his pathos (beyond the surface level humor).

Also Ive seen 2 future Parks & Rec stars so far (Nick Offerman & Jim OHeir), which is cool, wonder if therell be any others. I think the last time I watched Monk was before P&R so it is a nice surprise.
