I gotta agree with Jakyl here. If you say the propaganda hurts the entertainment value, then okay. But if you say the propaganda is sickening, youre taking a moral view. The word sickening elevates it to being offensive to you

Like WWE has been rife with workplace bullying, has ties to Trump, appropriates the stories of terminally ill children to get their stars over (Connor/Justin Roberts/Bryan), mocks their dead HoFers with stuff like the Warrior award, lies brazenly to its audience virtually every week, willingly drops the quality of its flagship show to get more money (the switch from 2 to 3 hours), fires people on their wedding day out of either malice or wild incompetence, treats its workers as independent contractors, and sacrifices the quality of its show to satisfy petty vendettas all the time

I agree that the Saudi regime is worse than any of those things, but if you're willing to draw such a stark moral line why on earth haven't you drawn it already? This is a profoundly terrible company.

I mean I also want to support stuff theyre doing like the MYC and NXT, the success of which make things better for up and coming pro wrestlers as far as opportunities to make a living go.

I get that theyre only handing out money to those people for predatory business reasons, but hey, Mia Yim is getting paid and thats a positive.

For the record I only really have a problem with WWE's Saudi relationship because it runs directly counter to a lot of their other shameless self promotion like "WOMEN'S REVOLUTION~" I get annoyed by the blatant hypocrisy more than them taking shady money. I'd be happier if they shut up about the other self promotion all things considered cause it's a total waste of time anyway. Do, don't say.

But on that note I also rarely have a network sub. Like 2 or 3 non free months of the year tops. Usually it's just the Rumble and one random PPV I'm interested in. This year I got a gift card as a gift so had 3 more months than usual. That's not out of moral qualms though it's just cause the product sucks

That is a problem, yes. But I didn't want to get into all the people in the HoF that shouldn't really be there.

But if they're going to do that, completely lying about what Warrior said in his speech and cutting around it to create the Warrior award is so fucking shady. Like it's almost compulsive. You don't need to even do that to justify the creation of such an award. But it's like they're compelled to. Trumpesque.

I know we briefly talked about it, but someone said if nothing happens to Khabib that it would ruin the legitimacy of UFC.

This is literally the same company that let McGregor assault a bus and injured multiple people, forcing many changes to their upcoming show and let him go unpunished because they "had a talk with him."

This is also the same company that conspired with USADA to make sure that Jon Jones, after violating the USADA policy made up bullshit after bullshit justifying his 4 year suspension to become a 1 year suspension while he has admitted to never taking the mandatory online tests, lied about his situation, and they just come back and say he must not have violated this because "he seemed very honest." Meanwhile many other fighters who violate USADA and swear up and down that they never took anything illegal stay suspended for years and have to continue undergoing surprise testing or be fined and end up getting released while they're suspended are still punished.

This is not to say the number of people like Brock Lesnar getting busted after the fact for violating USADA and the number of bullshit titles they basically create for people and the number of people who have to drop out of fights because of the extreme weight loss they have to do to qualify for some fights.

If anyone thought that UFC was a legitimate sport, they are fucking crazy.

for context, he was in the tag team thunderbastard (staggered entrance battle royale a la royal rumble), and for the 2 minutes after he came out the crowd never dipped below incredibly loud booing until the next team

That said all their champions are the best in their weight classes and have beaten their nearest rivals pretty convincingly.

And the best P4P fighter in the world and one of their biggest draws has fought just three times in nearly 5 years because he keeps failing drug tests.
