Who played Blaster Master Zero? I feel like somebody mentioned it back around when it came out. Anyways, it's very good. I thought it was gonna be a run-of-the-mill shmup (never played the original) but it's more like a Metroidvania and there are some little Zelda-esque top down sections thrown in.

Also there's something amusing about the PG-rated cursing

Man, the Rockies left Jon Gray not just out of their NLDS rotation but the roster entirely. I don't blame them too much, but I think he could have at least stuck around in the pen.

Rockies offense has been really bad but I feel pretty good about their chances of taking two games at Coors with Marquez and Freeland pitching. I don't even know who the Brewers' starting pitchers are beyond Chacin, are they just going to bullpen it some more?

I know how you feel, Chewy. I remember when the Giants were trying to win championships and they got 36 year-old Scutaro from the Rockies. Woohoo. I mean, it happened to work out pretty well that time, but sometimes you just want your team to have more urgency in trying to win a championship, like how the Dodgers got Machado, or to a lesser extent, the Yankees adding McCutchen for peanuts.

That Yelich trade was such a huge power shift. I'm sitting here thinking about how different the postseason might have looked if the Rockies spent the farm on him instead (assuming they even have anyone good to trade; I don't know). They probably would have won the division. And who knows if the Brewers make the playoffs without him. Maybe the Cardinals get in again.

I don't know why other teams didn't jump at that trade considering he was already putting up good numbers on the Marlins in his early 20s. He's entering his prime and he's got a cheap contract for the next few years. Even if they want to move on from him in a couple of years, they'll probably get back more than they gave up.

I don't think the Brewers would have made the playoffs without Yelich. His play during the last weeks of the season allowed the Brewers to stay alive.

And yeah I wasn't expecting them to go for like a Machado (not that he would've been a positional fit anyway) but somebody in the McCutchen or Murphy or Matt Adams tier would've been acceptable. Instead they go for a position player with negative career WAR

Yelich was funny because after Stanton and Ozuna went for peanuts the pundits were like ok but Yelich will go for a lot. And then... He didn't. And even if he was just at his regular level it would have been a steal. Cain was an incredibly good add as well. The Brewers basically had the perfect off-season.

Basically this Rockies team has done a decent job of developing their own talent, but they're horrible at free agency and trades (for veterans; I was reminded recently that Marquez was part of that McGee trade). It's frustrating cause I think you need to do a little bit of both to really make it over the hump. All things considered though I'd say they're doing pretty good for most of their recent big acquisitions being huge negatives for the team

The dodgers series seems to be going as anticipated

I didn't realize how fully mediocre Andrew Miller has been this year. The godly relievers (generally) don't keep it up for more than 4-5 years I guess.

Is he an editor? This thing felt so chopped up in parts. And it felt like everything was going slightly too fast. Like it had been sped up ever so slightly.

He works in visual effects. I'll ask him about the process behind decisions like that, though. For what it's worth, he got a new contract with a new company before coming on board, and he finds the new spot a shit show.

That's too bad. I didn't hate this movie it was just extremely odd. Some of the action scenes were cool. And I think the CGI on Venom was fine for the most part, but the boss fight at the end is a largely indecipherable CGI mess which is unfortunately par for the course for a lot of superhero movies.

I think I'm going to just give up on shaving, unless I really have to look nice for something, which I probably won't for a while.

Most of you guys don't shave much AFAIK but you can also grow actual beards so it's less of an issue. As you probably know by now I can't but who knows, maybe if I leave it for like three months it'll become something passable
