Yes, the beginning of football season is the only significant thing happening in the world of sports right now. Nothing else.

Am I a bad fan if I want the Rockies to lose today? I don't see us winning in LA so I'd rather just save the rotation flexibility

Marquez away from Coors isn't a bad bet though. I get your train of thought, of course, but go for it.

4-0.

Rotation flexibility don't mean shit if you don't reach the division series.

If they do a tiebreaker then I think it would be Marquez on normal rest and then Freeland on short rest if they go to the WC. But if they just went straight to the WC they could get Marquez on extra rest.

I'll root for them to win today but I don't think a loss is such a bad outcome

Wow the Colts are dumb. It was a tie game with like 30 seconds left in OT, they had a 4th down on their own 40ish. They tried to draw the Texans offside, then called timeout, you think they're gonna punt at that point... but then they line up again and go for it anyway. It fails, Texans immediately get into field goal range and win the game

That's how that game ended in a Texans win. I was wondering how that could've possibly happened cause the Colts had the ball with like 27 seconds left.

Jeez, these NL teams are really putting each other on notice. All four tiebreaker participants scored 10+. I'm sad we aren't taking the division outright but it's gotta be awesome for neutral fans to have all this going on.

It's pretty wild. He didn't retire right at that point but I remember it was weird when Matt Holliday's 7 year deal ran out because he was such a fixture in my life for so long. And Adam Wainwright is the next one.

Last year he was solid, this year he was quite mediocre. He was an average ish hitter playing 1B and DHing a bunch, not really good enough to start and he probably doesn't want to be a platoon guy or pinch hitter on some other team

He hasn't officially announced anything, but his contract is over and media people here in the Twin Cities say he's gonna retire. Help me out here baseball guys, but he probably could get another contract for a couple more years but just might not want to, just like CaptainHammer said
