Zack was still pretty good last contest. Don't let the loss to Kefka fool you. He's still worth more on Snake through Kefka in 2013 than Fox was directly in 2010, and there's LFF to consider, too.

Ivysaur is probably about as worthless as Jigglypuff (probably moreso, really). Just being in Smash won't do anything for it. Sheik could be worth something.

Totally ineligible though, so Zack wins by DQ.

Ivysaur is not the starter. It's the version of the Pokemon nobody cares about.

Jigglypuff was awful and she's been in since the original. Lucario sucked. SSBB doesn't guarantee strength for Ivysaur.

I imagine Ivysaur sucks really really badly too, but even that should be enough to beat Pichu of all things.

Ended up going Sheik>Zack for the poll, but thinking about it more I'd probably take Sheik>Fox. Definitely confident in Sheik being the strongest and Ivysaur being the weakest, though.

I remember Jigglypuff sucking! I just also remember Charizard and Squirtle rocking. Didn't know how much Ivysaur compromised between those two points, recognizing he's the weakest of those three starters.

Charizard was a fraud. His near-loss to Zelda coupled with his actual loss to Mega Man proved that.

Squirtle probably is too based on the final product since the dude went from beating Cloud to losing easily to Pikachu and letting Snake get over 50% on them combined.

Those starters also both had exceptional first runs in a contest and there was plenty of other Pokemania in the last contest to go around, from Mewtwo to Blue.

I feel confident about Sheik, but I'm not taking a match against a RBY starter lightly in this era of Pokemon nostaglia either.

I'm pretty bad to blur all evolutions together sometimes and accept that matters. SSBB will help alleviate that to some degree for Ivysaur, but yeah, I get what you're saying there.

Sheik > Zack

Sheik is absolutely not eligible, but if we did seperate them, being an important mysterious character of the site's most likely favorite game, and being top tier in Melee is a lot to bring to the table in ways that Zelda can't actually do so. She could be pretty strong in her own right, though. Maybe if Zelda makes it to the later rounds this year, we could get Sheik in a match pic or two. Meanwhile, Zack could be a bit of a fraud, but that depends on how much respect you want to give Kefka's round three performance (Kefka R3 could be stronger than R2 due to all the laughing Kefka sprite pictures, or just by being Kefka). I'd still trust in Zack over Fox though, who has only had that shitty motion control game since CBIX.

And who really cares about Ivysaur? It's not a starter, nor is it the final evolution. It's in the middle, because the real fan favorites of the starter lines in RBY are Squirtle and Charizard, and they needed the middle grass to comprise Pokemon Trainer. It doesn't really have it's own appeal.
