Precisely. People keep saying "it won't change anything, I simply won't buy them". But then if they purposely slowed down the normal acquisition of XP / gems / whatever it is, to make it take ages to reach a level or buy a combo, then it DOES change things, and it IS fucked up. And if they didn't alter the game's acquisition of XP via normal play, then there wouldn't be any need for this theft and people wouldn't spend a dime. And do you really think they'll implement a revenue system if they knew they wouldn't generate any ?
Expect the worst. Cancel your pre-orders, chaps. It's the only way to send a message and end this travesty.

As long as progression isn't agonizingly long without microtransactions, I'm not bothered. This is why despite Bloons Tower Defense 5 having microtransactions out the ass, I've played it for hundreds of hours and have never spent a dime on it.

I thought these companies realized that since microtransactions killed several games last year like BF2 and SoW, they would stop.

Microtransactions are huge, I get that. But it should be for massively multiplayer games that are designed around such things like stuff like Fortnite or mobile trash and with cosmetica in mind only.

They should leave regular games alone because it almost always increases time spent in the game grinding if you don't want to pay. That right there has turned me off from even purchasing the games. Oh well.

Too bad the kids of today are becoming so saturated with 10 years of microtransactions that its really going to be the norm now. Which is a very sad and stupid reality to observe one in.

Developers give all kinds of excuses. Costs of the development, publishers choice, future content, choices.... Play the way you want...

Really this situation could be been avoided altogether. Situations like this are what help create inflation. Developers creating scenarios that just arnt true, being a reality created by whoever hands them the money, gross income,I mean just imagine for a minute if games one day became worthless. At that point so many companies would have to close because there imaginary overpriced titles are now worthless, but that's why micro transactions exists to potentially counter my argument, but really publishers know one day a crash is inevitable so thier like, "lets get money as fast as we can", . Over priced games arnt going to sell, and generate the imbalanced income they desire, so... Microtrasactions.

Basically, they don't care about you, thier companies are ran by machines that calculate numbers, and they run by them with the thought of profit margin increase, in short time frames.

That is why I stopped gaming for the most part except Disgaea. It's pretty much exploiting adult gamers.

- You can get roughly 40k orbs per level, more at higher difficulties.

- Abilities cost around 10k and go up with higher tiers. The highest tiers cost around 35k orbs.

- The most expensive ability they saw cost 3mil orbs, and it's not an attack.

- Revives cost 1.5k orbs to revive with 30% health, 3k orbs to revive with starting hp, and 7.5k orbs to revive with full hp.

- The second time you revive the costs go up to 7.5k, 15k, and 37.5k orbs respectively.
