You trying to paint them all as hateful racists because you are jealous that their team is succeeding is the single most transparent thing I have ever seen.

They don't care. In the thousands of hours I've spent around native americans I have never heard one of them complain about Chief Wahoo, the tomahawk chop from either the Seminoles or Braves, or the Redskins.

One of the midget football teams in said town was also called the Redskins and one of my classmates who PLAYED for that team made a post a few years ago talking about the fake outrage and how there are far bigger issues facing Native American communities than what some sports teams are called.

One thing they ARE actually upset about is that Columbus Day is still celebrated, for example.

i believe that. They scored double digit runs in how many games just a week or so before the postseason? Then all of a sudden they can't get a big hit from anyone when they need it. that series was just a bit too easy, and I fully acknowledge that it wasn't just Brewer dominance but also Rockies falling into a huge hitting slump at the worst possible time.

its old, dated, and way under capacity for its market. Not even mentioning its little league dimensions.

It represents a lot of what is wrong with MLB right now. Outrageously high ticket prices that keep out a lot of market. It creates a huge accessibility problem. MLB is having a lot of problems attracting a younger crowd, something needed for the long term health of the game. And making the ballpark experience inaccessible to such a large market isn't doing the game any favors.

The live ballpark experience is something TV just can't do justice.

Speaking of problems with MLB, they continue to let the network executives dictate the postseason schedule. Not being able to see anyone but the red sox, yankees and dodgees while continually stuffing the Astros with some of the games brightest young stars to 1030am limits the games ability to expand.

My mom was really pissed that the Brewers game yesterday was only on MLB network. The Dodgers were on FS1 (where the Brewer games are normally), and we see others on normal tv, but the Brewers arent a big enough market for them to care about. Im guessing the Brewers making the World Series is something the people in charge are hoping doesnt happen.

The tomahawk chop has been awful for years. It being center stage again for the first time in a little which has given me reason to bring it back up. The Braves being successful has nothing to do with it other than it now being visible on a big stage. I always have been outspoken against it, even when the Braves were bad.

That said, I don't think it's "hateful". It clearly is not done out of hatred towards Native Americans or anything like that. Thats not what I'm really trying to say. It definitely is ignorant and thats almost as much of a problem. I was at a Braves game in Atlanta this April and I have seen people there do "whooping" war cries and say shit like "YEAH SCALP THEM!!!". This isn't direct hatred, but it's also not ok.

Edit: and yes, even if it weren't racist, it's annoying as all hell. They do it after every batter in the later innings. Nobody wants to hear this.

Kenny Albert is so bad. And then after hearing him over and over in the MIL/COL series, I had to hear him call Sunday's giants game ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I really do wish the games would be simulcast nationally and local. Mid-week regular season national games do that - where the game will be on both ESPN/MLBN and your local channels. So it's clearly within reason to do so.
