I really do wish the games would be simulcast nationally and local. Mid-week regular season national games do that - where the game will be on both ESPN/MLBN and your local channels. So it's clearly within reason to do so.

I thought Holder was going to be the one to relieve Severino actually since he hasn't been used in the postseason yet. And Holder has actually had a couple really clutch moments this season. Perhaps it should have been him.

That is Aaron Boone. Your guy has to be better prepared than that. On top of that, he should've been immediately pulled after the Brock Holt single.

Most of my earlier criticism of Boone was tongue in cheek, but tonight it's got some legitimate basis.

As an impartial observer, I think the biggest mistake was bringing in Lynn with the bases loaded and nobody out. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 with what happened, but to me it seems obvious that to should bring in a high leverage reliever like Robertson or Betances there and let Lynn start a fresh inning.

I mean maybe Lynn wasn't ready and he didn't expect two base runners to get on in like three pitches but still. Holt's single should've been the hook. Bad, bad managing.

And fuck Severino by the way. How on EARTH are you gonna be late for your warmup. Fucking idiot.

I just mean that Lynn is a starter and his game isn't really made for that type of situation. Robertson excels at getting out of jams. Betances gets a lot of Ks. Betances comes in and gets a strikeout you're a ground ball away from getting out of the inning scot free.

Lynn should have never been in. bases loaded nobody out, you need strikeouts. should have been Holder or better and then maybe Lynn in the 6th to start an inning if you're still down by 3 or more.

I figured we'd with the Eovaldi game, but I was definitely nervous that'd it be game 4 and we're down 2-1. Would Cora have a quick hook and pull some arsonist out of the bullpen in the third inning???

So now we have a 20% chance for a gem out of Porcello, or Sale in game 5 at Fenway. It's a good feeling. The things that could go right so far have gone right. And the thing that was doomed to fail, failed. It's nice that the pressure is on NY right now, and we know we have Chris Sale at home if things go poorly. I still feel like the series is a coin flip though.

Last night was really nice though. Glad Cora had those guys be aggressive... who the hell wants to wear down a pitching staff's pitch count when they have a bullpen like that?

I think people are giving the Yankees too hard of a time here. Yeah it was an awful loss, but the Red Sox deserve a lot of credit. Really the main issue is that the Yankees' offense is too one-dimensional and the Red Sox offense is not. The Red Sox are simply the better team. I do agree with neon, I think this series can still go either way. But ultimately I'm sticking by my prediction that the Red Sox win this.

I did predict the Red Sox in four at the start.

It's just so frustrating because Game 1 was still SO winnable despite Happ being bad and Sale being good. We had the tying run on base three straight innings and couldn't come up clutch.
