I did skip the exclusions step though since I didn't think it would matter if you turned off real time protection. Wait, what you linked was only exclusions, I did the gpedit.msc and disabled real time protection from there. As soon as I "upgraded" to W10 and saw it was deleting (harmless) programs I actually used off my PC without even getting my permission, I knew I had to revert.
Happily still using W8. Sure, it's no XP, but at least it isn't as outright malicious as 10. ... Copied to Clipboard!
