Everyone there has mental disorders, know it, and wont get help. Its sad but at some point you just have to cut ties with people who are holding your life back and think of your own future. My girlfriend has issues too and has gone to therapy for a decade and has brought her family each to 1-2 sessions. They all know they need help, but are too embarsssed to give up heir public everything is perfect facade. If you wont take a basic step to helping yourself, eventually its on you. All your can do is give a person opportunity and resources and support, and eventually that has to end. No wonder shes always over there cleaning for them. That's the way it'll stay too because I pay towards the rent so it's like I'm renting out the room. Still I've known a lot worse living conditions. My mums place was a tip site. I recall picking my younger sister up from hers a few times and the house was literally covered in shit, nappies, empty food packets and worse. My dad told me she used to leave us sleeping in beds of piss and basically wasn't fit to have children. He was right but I question why he would have kids with someone like that in the first place as she was the same with my older sister(me and her had quite a age gap between us, I'm the second oldest). My mum certainly has mental disorders. The problem with this though or at least in my dads case is the ideas he has to use these things he hordes never seem to leave his head thus things just sit there for years, even decades not being used and making the house look a mess. I'm not exaggerating on how bad the situation actually is. Still I've gave up telling him to use the things or get rid of them because he's already aware of what needs to be done and rightfully I should have moved out by now anyway so eh.
