Depends onthe relationship, if they are a happy couple I don't assume it was him, but if it's shitty and/or abusive I would probably think it was him

Statically, you're more likely to be murdered by someone you know than a stranger.

All things being equal (like assuming you don't know of a specific person who may have wanted her dead), the boyfriend is a logical suspect. Or girlfriend, if she swings that way. But it's less "the boyfriend probably did it" and more "it's worth considering the boyfriend as a possible suspect."

While the boyfriend/husband is usually the prime suspect, I wouldn't automatically assume guilt. Especially in the case of a boyfriend since they have far less at stake. An EX-bf, on the other hand, is a pretty good suspect... so is an ex-gf...

If you count individual strangers, sure, but strangers as a collective group, not so much. If you add up the tiny amount of time you spend around every individual stranger, that's going to add up fast. I suspect for most people, that number would be larger than if they added up the amount of time spent around every person they knew.

I wouldn't. For all I know said person could be single(although I normally assume most gals are taken) and even if they wasn't it all depends the circumstances.

I... suppose that's one way to look at it? However, most time spent with large groups of strangers is in crowded public places where violence is less likely because there's no way they can get away with it. And although spending an hour with 10 strangers is like spending 10 hours with a stranger, it's still not quite the same thing.

Fair enough point.
