Anybody read most of those Jump series? I know some people read a couple, but there are others Ive never seen a single person talk about. Never seen anyone talk about Boku-tachi for example.

I've read a little bit of all of them because Viz translates the first three chapters of every new series. rAnd anything longer than six months old or fifty chapters has a lot scanned.

Looks like Senran Kagura and Release the Spyce will be fighting it out to see which is the best ninja girl series next season. Hopefully Senran Kagura doesnt censor itself like the first anime season. The LIFE and HOMETOWN better be present in uncensored glory like the one OVA it got

Maybe theyre trying to keep it because they have almost no sports series? Theres Haikyuu and uh Zumo. I think thats it unless one of the other series is a sports one

gonna have to wait for blu rays if you want it uncensored

I feel like Hinomaru wouldn't have the same female fanbase that a lot of sports series do...

Well what I mean was even the S1 Senran Kagura blurays werent uncensored. There was no uncensored content at all for S1 from what I remember hearing and seeing. I guess Crunchy probably wouldnt stream an uncensored version of S2 if one existed anyways? I dont actually know if they tend to stream uncensored stuff or not.

they stream some shows uncensored, one or two behind the premium paywall (My Wife is the Student Council President for one) but I'd say more often than not they get the censored version of shows and not the AT-X version

It's whatever gets provided to them. I recall that Jojo Parts 1 and 2 are uncensored on Crunchyroll.

So I watched an episode of Banana Fish because I fucking love the band that did the OP.

That brawl at the end of the episode man. Kickass.

Banana Fish is surprisingly solid.

One thing, is that it's always weird to me seeing shows taking place in the States and having everyone speaking Japanese. Probably gonna be way better dubbed.

I tend to tune out the fact that every nationality speaks fluent Japanese in anime. They did this in Sirius Jaeger where the first thing they did when they landed in Japan was tell the first person they see "We used to do business here so we learned the language".

The opening scene of Tada-kun is hilarious with this. She speaks in japanese, and Tada responds in broken english that he doesn't speak english.

my problem with 91 Days was it was trying really hard to do that 90s style anime

the closest recent anime to it would be something like B The Beginning where the directors come up with these really forced and generic American sounding names and have the characters repeat those names many times to sound "cool" to the American audience who find it incredibly cringey

90s style anime done right = Megalo Box

nope Megalo was done right in that it wasn't really obsessed with pleasing the American fan imo

when I watch Megalo it felt like they took the world they created seriously, and not like hey let's cater to these Americans that will eat this up. the focus was on Joe being an underdog boxer and not how many bullets he can shoot or how many cigarettes he can smoke or how he's some super smart crime scene investigator explaining things to the rest of his Japanese department like they were neanderthals

I wonder what the odds of this new Yu Yu Hakusho OVA being dubbed are. I love the dub cast so much. It would be cool to see it in English

I think an anime that would have worked well at targeting the anime fans is Psycho Pass, would have absolutely no problems if they changes everyone to have American names

I didn't really care much for Psycho Pass. Had a cool setting, but it was kind of just eh.

Been a while since I watched it, but I think my biggest problems were with the antagonist.

You'd have to change some stuff, for sure.

thinking back on it, both Megalo and Psycho Pass had settings that aren't based on any real world locale

They're such a good band.

Ill probably just wait for S3 of Overlord to finish before watching the series. As for DanMachi I dunno if want to watch it just yet. I basically already know everything about it anyways from the mobile game.

Decided to check out ep3 of Planet With to see if its worth continuing. I really dont know still.

Banana Fish pretty easily passes the 3 Episode rule. It's pretty great.

Just watched episode 5, last part was pretty fantastic.
