I'll just say that short of AJ squashing Almas in 1 minute I can't possibly see a single match doing anything but helping him (even exclusively in the context of "do I want to see AJ vs Almas have a match") no matter what the booking.

But sure, 5-8 minute match on free TV is a good use for their first match, too.

It's better if the audience actually remotely cares about Almas before putting him in a match with stakes and a match with AJ Styles where he isn't immediately squashed is a good way to do that.

They kept saying Orton has never been like this, but I think he was kind of the same during the punt days.

They ABSOLUTELY RUINED him after his first Rumble win when he was kind of going on this path.

I kind of had a feeling they were going to put Kenny over. Wouldn't make sense to have him lose just his second singles match after taking the title. I still picked Naito though because my heart.

I've gotten both Suzuki matches wrong so IDFK what to think.

It would definitely make things a little more fresh. SD is so stacked with heels now. Nakamura (who had some awesome facial expressions during the show ending beatdown), Orton, Joe, Miz.

I'd like to see psycho Orton bring back the punt if they're going to have him go this far. Go full circle back to the days when he was kicking the heads off of everybody.

I just read a rumor so WWE that I don't think even WWE will go this far.

Roman wins next week. Lashley gets a rematch since they're now 1-1. No contest, triple threat at Summerslam.... With Hogan as the special enforcer.

Lashley wins the match, and the show ends with Hogan raising Lashley's arm, as he would be the first Black Universal Champion.

While Lashley winning is something I'd enjoy, I don't see it happening with Hogan next to him. I'm still expecting Roman, with maybe a Braun cash in to send the crowd home happy if they're really raising hell or shitting on the match.

Apparently Brock is scheduled for the Raw after Summerslam (though we all know how much he shows up when scheduled). He could also get the surprise win at Summerslam and lose via MitB the following night.

Part of me wonders if they intentionally leaked that to make Trips look hipper for putting Roman in the midcard and Seth in the main, but if so, THAT sure backfired.

Here's the theory behind where to place it though, since you seem to think that blaming the crowd here is fair

- You don't want it at a time where the crowd is dead just wants to go home, because they now know they have to wait at minimum 30 minutes for this match they hardly care about to end and aren't going to give it anything resembling a chance
- You do want it at a time the crowd needs a small boost because it probably will be an exciting match in spite of it having no heat and will get them back into the show

I think any time before after 2 hours have elapsed is a safe place to put it. Any time after that you're asking for trouble.

And this is from a guy who thinks the WWE title should main event but that's just for traditions sake, but Rusev/Styles had less build than Ziggler/Rollins, which is pretty impressive.
