My brother and I use to spend a lot of time on newgrounds. I can't imagine finding anything entertaining there nowadays.

I also used to have an account on IGN when I was like 12. I mainly talked about Mario Party games lol

Back when I lived alone and only had a laptop for gaming, I used to go on Kongregate a ton. Once I built a gaming PC though I never went back. Also the webcomics I used to read (8-bit Theater, Sore Thumbs, VG Cats, Penny Arcade).

I used to go to cracked pretty much every day, but they really went into the shitter after doing the weird crowd source shit.

I haven't seen their stuff in years.

I was crazy active on the MtG forums in the early 2000s. My activity died down a few years after I stopped actively playing. Then I used a bunch of ezboards and similar platforms until I got bored of or the communities started dying down. I had a lot of people from that time period added on AIM, which I just stopped using and at this point I think I wouldn't be able to get in touch with anybody I know from back then.

Other than that, can't think of anything except maybe the browser-based Game Domain Castle which, when the larger site was bought by Yahoo, got shut down so it's not like I could visit that one anyway. Although I think I moved on before the shutdown.

idk, can't think of all that many offhand. There are probably sites specific to interests that I stopped using when the interest diminished, though.

Neopets and Adventurequest come to mind. There was quite a few Harry Potter fansites that I frequented in middle school (roleplaying and all, I was such a fucking nerd and it was phenomenal) as well as a few random music downloading sites that have gone down.

I can't think of many that I chose to stop going to (as opposed to the site closing or something). I haven't been to Neopets in about a decade, and I used to go to Cracked about 3-4 times a week and now I only check about two or three times a month.

newgrounds

I actually was just playing a few games on there a couple weeks ago for a few days since I was bored of my games I had, though before that it was kinda years before I went on there other than the odd dip in and dip out.

Can't really think of any besides stuff way back in the day like Neopets and Runescape. I've been stuck in a rut recently of continuing to visit sites even though I know they're a waste of time. If anything I just start frequenting even more sites that I don't need to

Came in to say Newgrounds. I used to go there pretty much every day.

Also, my first message board was on Sega.com; I started posting there around the time SA2 came out (2001) and was a regular for several years.

Also VGCats. They only update like twice a year now, but his jokes stopped being funny long before the updates slowed down.

I used to be addicted to playing poker and other card games on Yahoo back in the early 2000s. I don't know how many times I would literally stay up until 3 AM playing those games. Now I haven't been to Yahoo in probably close to 10 years.

There were a few discussion forums that closed up over the years. All gaming related. I've also abandoned a survey site, playstation.com, and (for now) Craigslist because they won't remove captchas and can't log in.

No it didn't. YT is mostly crap for that. Any time you're looking for a solution you can't find a video that isn't 20 minutes long and without some asswipe talking the entire time. I still go to GF on occasion.

Federation Space. It was a message board based Star Trek MMO. After a one on one training period with someone and choosing tactical, science, medical, engineering, or security officer, each Player would be assigned to a ship (sub board) and make posts in character responding to posts from game moderators. Everything on the site was run by players. The GMs were players on other ships that wrote the story. The exp was based on participation per month awarded by your superior officer. You could also be awarded medals based on subjective things like best writing.
