The only thing I don't get is a eye test but that's nothing. The stuff I've had done would have cost a fortune at this point, even more so with my teeth. Regular checkups are much cheaper than not going to the dentist for years and then needing a lot of work done to fix your teeth that have been neglected all those years. Another thing is that insurance will almost always pay 100% of the cost of a regular checkup. Just last year I went to the dentist for the first time in ages to get two molars (or what was left of them checked out) Back when I was a freshman in college, both molars had some root canal work done that was never actually finished. And eventually they broke. Anywho I finally went to get them checked and I remember how painful it was to have to pay out of pocket, even with insurance and all.
