TASBot's biggest problem is that a lot of content is on the verge of watching a youtube video, and a substantial amount of their presentation ends up being slow or lackluster. Like when the dude went "I shouldn't pretend to not know what's going on" and that's alright.

Like the Super Metroid thing was neat, but it was essentially loading a video file? And the Color a Dinosaur thing was... ascii art.

I've never enjoyed the TAS block much. I do enjoying TASes in general, just not what I'm watching GDQ to see.

Ok, so that's a pretty clever and convenient as hell mechanic/exploit to enable this run. Yellow runs slightly slower than red/blue. You can take advantage of this to desync the two games.

For example, if you're in the same battle in both games, and you need to use a potion in one, but not the other. Can't just go ITEM -> USE, because that would use it in both. So you go PKMN -> STATS, then immediately press B. Since red/blue runs faster, your B input will exit the stats page while Yellow takes an additional frame or so to process opening the stats page. So red/blue is back on the pokemon list and you can go back to using your item without simultaneously using it in yellow.

So this is a disaster

TAS blocks have been really cool in the past (video chat on SNES, "Pokemon plays Twitch") but this one wasn't quite as good.

Yeah after resetting on weedle the first time I'm surprised he didn't save the second time. Resetting again is kinda awkward.

I wouldn't say it's a disaster. It's still early and I feel like he probably had to account for this in the estimate.

I mean the two resets were what? I think at most like 10 minutes? I'm not saying he expected to reset twice there, just that disaster is a pretty strong word for it.

Yeah I'm still gonna go with this is a disaster. I'll be impressed if he finishes in under 3 hours.

Yeah, tough luck at the end there. If you remove the extra trip to the name rater for donation incentives and them struggling on communicating the spelling of one of the nicknames, it finishes less than 10 minutes over estimate. It's too bad he wanted to make sure he finished at least one game instead of just resetting both games when Yellow lost to lance, although I definitely understand why he chose that in that situation.

Personally had a blast watching that. After viridian forest and disregarding the trip to the name rater, it was pretty smooth. Ate a crit against sabrina but that was a quick reset. And another one somewhere...rival battle maybe? But he had saves right there both times.

Oh and the extra trip back to pick up an X Accuracy cost him a minute, too.

I'm guessing he was pretty mentally fatigued after 3 hours of juggling two games. I think he might have mistakenly thought he was out of his other move.

He finished blue. Was fighting Lance in both. First time I wanna say he got crit by dragonair hyper beam in yellow. Tried again and missed a blizzard or something. So he just finished blue because he was already a little over estimate.

The best part of GDQ is coming up.
The part where it ends and then you can actually watch the runs you want to watch.
