Discuss.

So long as there's no hoa, I don't see any reason to have much of an opinion on them.

Hmmm... idk. Maybe. Sort of. Its kind of the same for getting in... Though they use to be much easier to get into. Haha.

I dont know. I live in arizona so there's a plenty around me. A lot of old white people from anywhere north come down here during the winter to get into car wrecks and make lines longer.
I can get why they'd want to live away from most other people. Whenever I peer in some of them they're either motor homes or some decent looking houses

When I lived in a gated apartment I preferred the gate to be broken which it was half the time.

Not only are you at the mercy of the gate and whether it will function properly, its so slow to get in and out of when it does work.

Everyone who didn't have a pass key just waited on the side for someone legitimate to follow in or swoop in after residents exiting. In effect it has no benefits to the resident in anyway and actually causesd more problems.

Though in this situation you could get a free pass on breaking your lease living in a gated that had a malfunctioning gate for most of the time, which people did benefit from.

Yeah. I figured that they are not as secured as people think... depending on what youre trying to do.

Today, Inalmost went into the exit because my phone was telling me to. And I wasnt sure if my mom would be awake. And then, it took so long calling at the gate, somebody pulled up behind. Then just followed me in. It looked like they were hesitating, though.

The fact that somebody's car got stolen from one doesn't mean that they aren't any safer, it just means that it's clearly not perfect -- and nothing is. No matter what, you're going to be a bit safer for the added security.

Maybe some people do. I dont really see he benefit. Well, not a lot of benefit. Anyone can still get in most of them. Even if they cant get their car in because they cant find someone going in, they could easily hope the fence at some random point...

It's like asking whether you'd like a security system. Yeah, people can bypass security systems (and it's also possible you'll never have a break-in), but it's still nice to have the added layer of security.

And I imagine that a lot of people who live in gated communities in safer areas (ie, most of the US) also do so for the feeling of safety. After all, if you don't have armed guards, a lot of it is just for show.

Laughed at that.

Went to Tucson for a wedding about 18 months ago. Thought it was weird how golf carts can be the most common means of transportation within a community.
