All I can think of for the Giants is "Giants Baseball: Torture", but it feels like more of a joke toward their own play and less of horrible slogan to slap on some apparel like those other ones you guys mentioned. I can still see how it would be annoying to non-Giants fans, though.

The torture thing was very very irritating back in like 2011 or whenever it was, but back then I was a lot more dialed in to the internet discussion of baseballing. Now I mostly just follow the Cards and get mad about it and check in on individual guys like Trout or Kershaw.

It was 105 degrees today fuck

We were on tornado watch on my drive home today. I'm not usually scared by tornado stuff anymore but it was enough to make me not go get the food I wanted which means it must have been pretty bad. Now it's a severe thunderstorm watch only

I haven't even gone outside today, to be fair, but still. That's really hot. Normally I like to leave the house but fuck that noise

Last Saturday was 105 here as well and I wanted to die. Our AC is broken.

Stardew Valley multiplayer review:

-very fun because the game is very fun. Definitely a good way and good reason to get back into one of the GOATs

-much less hardcore than the single player game. Beyond the obvious stuff about how much easier it is to make money when you can delegate duties (e.g. one of you can fish all day for extra seed money while the other one works the farm), there are little things in the game that just make it a lot easier. If you sit in your bed you get energy back and then you can get back to work! I also passed out on purpose to see what would happen and I just wound up back in my bed getting energy back. Very odd.

-I definitely consider this to be secondary to the single player. It's like a non-canon bonus mode to me because it becomes more about just doing what you feel like doing than sticking to the game plan you've made for yourself for a given day

-I think long term goals would be challenging in this mode unless you're all veteran players. Not because resource gathering isn't much easier in co-op - it is - but because you share money and resources and people just do what they want with it. At one point my friend just started building a bunch of walkways. We ran out of almost all the stone we had built up over like three game days because I didn't stop him. Now when we have to build something that requires a lot of stone it's going to be annoying. By the end of our sesh I was in control of the financial and crafting decisions but we'll see how long that lasts

-Further into the non-canon aspect of it, I barely spent any time talking to the townsfolk this time. For some reason having another farmer running around made it seem more like a waste of time. I don't really know why

I'm really getting back into posting online. I do instagram stories now and I tweet a lot. The posters life that's the life for me. Anyway there's nothing to do at work, how are you guys doing today

I am absolutely SWAMPED. I will have work to do until AT LEAST 10 am today.

Every week or 2, I hear this sound that goes on for about 5 min. It sounds exactly like someone is clipping their nails at their desk, which disgusts me and drives me crazy (probably a little irrational of me). I guess it's not the most unsanitary thing in the world assuming they have a trash can but it's still gross. Sometimes the clicking sound happens too frequently for it to be a nail clipper, so it could just be a pen or something, but it sounds just like a nail clipper and the frequency and duration matches the timing of how often someone would clip their nails. Either way, it's distracting.

That's what's on my plate today.

I'm lucky enough to work in the office where all of the phone lines and stuff are stored, so once a day there will be incessant beeping back here for an hour. I have completely tuned it out by now, but if someone who doesn't work back here comes in during it they go oh my god what is that, that's so annoying and then I remember it's there and it drives me insane too.

That's definitely nasty. It takes like two minutes to clip your nails. How busy is your home life that you have to do it at work? You don't watch tv enough to even be able to do it while you have a show on? You can't do it before bed???

I got an NES Classic so that's cool I guess

Oh shit, I forgot they come out today. I wasn't going to wait in line for one regardless but I still should've gone to Walmart somewhat early-ish. I might go this afternoon anyway, even if they don't have it I can finally get a Switch pro controller

I just went to Target this morning because I was up running errands and their site said they still had them

I just checked Walmart's site to see if I could see the stock locally but I couldn't find that so instead I ordered one for pickup. They say it won't be ready until July 6, which is fine, but I'm afraid it won't actually be ready and then I'll have to go through some bullshit to get a refund.

I still might go there in person today regardless and get one if they have them.

I will hopefully be able to make it to target today and find one. As of now the three closest ones to me have them in stock.

Tim Tebow made the all-star team for the AA Eastern League. He still sucks but he's been playing decently lately. He's not nearly good enough for the big leagues but he's going to make it to the Mets, probably this September. So prepare yourselves for that

I don't know if I'd be that mad at this point if the Mets called him up. He sucks and doesn't really deserve it, but if they want the publicity, whatever. At least he's been there a couple years trying to put in work, not like they'd just be plucking him off the street. Plus we never see two-sport pros anymore so that would be cool, even if he's no Bo.

I remember saying when the whole thing first started there was no way he would actually play in the minor leagues, but here we are. Whether he truly thinks he can do it or not you can't deny he isn't putting in a genuine effort. Of course he's getting privileged treatment because of who he is, and that will be the case when he gets called up, but oh well. It isn't costing the Mets anything. And hopefully he buys nice lunches and stuff for his teammates.

Well I got the NES Classic, they had some at my Target, surprisingly. There was even one SNES Classic there too. That was the first time I saw one there, it's always the Walmart that seems to get more of them.

Just gotta hope Walmart cancels my pickup order and gives me my money back. Please, no more scarce Nintendo hardware for a while. Too bad they're probably gonna sucker me in with an N64 Classic.

Do any of you guys have a Google Home or Alexa or other smart home device? I don't have any other "smart" accessories like lightbulbs/outlets/thermostats, yet, but this thing is worth the money just for being able to turn on and off my TV with my voice. Plus the other features are cool.

A couple weeks ago I was at my dad's house adn they were playing like a Spotify playlist with their Alexa and I asked Alexa who was singing the song and she didn't know.

We have a couple Amazon Echos. We are looking to get the cheaper ones for our kids' rooms.

It's so freakin weird that Shenmue 3 is gonna be a real game. Also it says that it will take up 100GB of your PC's hard drive which is more than The Witcher 3 and Skyrim combined. Please upgrade your hard drive before buying.

I've always said that the Rockies need to have more pitchers who can strike people out, but their pitching staff this season basically has a higher ERA the higher their K/9 is (except Chad Bettis). Of course that doesn't mean the strikeouts are bad but it goes to show that baseball is a weird sport where weird things happen.

Jon Gray is fifth in the league in K/9 (among starters) but all the other guys in the top five have like 20 more innings. Shame for him, he has some real talent. I know he's gonna be a beast when he inevitably leaves Coors and then I'll be sad and angry

Jon Gray needs to be rescued and given to the Mariners/Angels.

That being said, he's had some clunkers away from Coors this year. He has had issues giving up hits in bunches.

It's just straight up impossible to build a good pitching staff there. It has to be through the draft because no one good will ever sign there, and even when they draft someone who looks like a potential ace like Gray it can only go so well. But it would be interesting if they somehow ended up with a guy like Scherzer in free agency some year just to see what it would be like.

Yet Adam Ottavino continues to be really good.

I think playing at Coors just fucks players up in general though, their approach carries through to road games too. You see that more with hitters, but I dunno, it probably messes with pitchers' confidence or something. Also some breaking pitches just don't work here and it's gotta be hard to keep them in your repertoire when you can't use or practice them effectively half the time.

Logic and statistics dictate that if Gray were to leave and play in Seattle or wherever he would become Scherzeresque but I have a hard time believing it. I think his career is fucked

The best FA pitcher they've had in history is maybe Roy Oswalt, but he was basically done up by then, so I dunno. Oswalt was probably the best in terms of overall career pedigree.

Best at the time they signed him was Darryl Kile maybe? That was in the 90s, so I don't really know much about it. By the 2000s when I started paying more attention to baseball, above-average starting pitchers were effectively done taking chances here

Literal Drew Pomeranz made an All-Star team. I'm sure Gray could make a couple All-Star appearances somewhere else and depending on your definition that could count as a success. I could see that he never gets a single Cy vote in his career though
