The scary part is the soon to be mandatory drug tests by employers. It might be legal for recreational use, but employers still get to choose whether to hire you based on it.

I've already heard my own employers give a speech on how it's not tolerated for any position.

in canada they had privacy laws that protected citizens
it was about not having to share personal crap with your place of business

Canada already drug tests for relevant careers. I've lived and worked in the US and Canada. Weed is part of Canadian culture and testing is not part of it.

Whereas in the US you had to do a piss test for any damn job regardless. For the 2 jobs I worked there I had to do a drug test before hire. I also had to do another drug test for the temp agency before they would agree to place me anywhere. 3 tests for 2 jobs. Yep. And each job said I could be subject to random testing at any time. This was way before anything was legal in any state.

Canada, worked many jobs here, not one test. If I worked with heavy equipment, on the oilfield, with children then whatever I would have and should have been tested. I could see testing there. But not like the US does where they would test you for anything

Can they test you for being high on the job? They need something like that, but AFAIK the tests we have now only show if you've done it in a recent period. You shouldn't do it on the job, but if people want to do it in their free time they shouldn't be punished.

And I didn't really start working "real" jobs until 2012, which was right before CO voted to legalize it, but I didn't have to drug test and a lot of the companies I've applied to or heard about through friends since then didn't test. Of course, a lot of that is after it became legal, but I don't really know if that made a huge difference. It was probably just whatever industry(ies) you were in at the time when you were in the US.

They have road sobriety tests, I'd imagine they have something like that if you have a workplace accident and need to be tested right away.

I can't link to the many many many sites that come up when you search for it. That's a safe for work link. The more Urban of dictionaries has it there. TIME profiled Marc Emery and bc bud in 2000 calling it the best grown stuff in the world. I've seen the sad buds in US dispensaries compared to what can be had for half the price here. If you do honestly smoke that much for that long and you haven't heard of bc buds you've been buying oregano lol. 95% of bc weed is exported and sold in the US to the tune of billions of dollars a year

Whereas we would rarely bother taking in American weed here because it's expensive and shit compared to homegrown. It's a con and not a selling point if it comes from the US. It means the good stuff wasn't available.

America doesn't own Cadbury or Nestle, for one. America licensed the rights to Cadbury in the US and produces an entirely different formula of the same products for the American market. And America has different formulas for its chocolates than other countries, largely due to the US having very lax restrictions of what constitutes chocolate. Plus Hershey's straight up uses low quality soured milk

Hershey's owns the Kit Kat bar in America. It isn't Nestles in that case.

probably why it tastes awful. hershey's ruins any brand it touches.

"i cant post any sources because they dont actually exist, but please believe all my hearsay information even though it is empirically not true"

and no you sad, funny, little peasant. i dont fucking smoke weed because i am not a goddamn caveman. i understand the heat of fire and combusting plants might be appealing in that frozen wasteland you call home, but i prefer to dab distillates because i live in a habitable place and am a civilized human being.

Canadian pot has cachet in the U.S. because of its reputation for being especially potent. The featured brand is BC Bud which is grown in British Columbia and has become synonymous with the high-grade marijuana grown throughout Canada. Once in the U.S., the pot is exchanged for cash, and sometimes cocaine or guns, which are then smuggled back to Canada.

Although the actual potency of BC Bud varies from batch to batch, depending on how it's grown, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration says that as much as 25% of BC Bud is made of the psychoactive drug tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In contrast, the pot that the hippie generation smoked in the 1970s had only 2% THC content, and most pot consumed in the U.S. today averages about 7% THC.

Don't get all superior about ketchup now, isn't it mostly just corn syrup?

American ketchup at least. I assume Canadian is the same. I've been to Canada twice in my life and I imagine I probably had ketchup there and I don't remember anything unusual about it
