Well usually I'd support Australia as I used to follow the A-League. This year I haven't heard of half their players so I'll support...Japan and Sweden for the minor teams I hope to win and Germany for the major team I hope to win. With my terrible soccer-football knowledge for black horses I'll guess Mexico or Iceland.

So fucking hype

I think Germany will win again, but France, Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Belgium and Portugal all have a shot

Then there's Croatia, Poland, Uruguay, England, Colombia that could surprise.

Personally I'm optimistic that Australia can make it out of their group, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we go 0-0-3 without scoring a goal.

I can't wait boys there won't be much sleep for me in the next month

We knocked Croatia out in 2006 to go through to the round of 16, and SHOULD have beaten Italy, but couldn't score against 10 men.

The penalty was a penalty, no issues there. We weren't good enough to score against 10 men for 40mins.

Then the way we were playing, we could've beaten Ukraine if we could contain Shevchenko (one of my all time faves). Then Germany would've dumpstered us in the semis, but ah well, that would have been a magical run.

On second thoughts, should I take this more seriously and put $50 each on France and Spain?

France are favourite or second favourite depending on where you look.

$50 on Germany and France would be safe. A fun bet would be $5 on Croatia or Poland or Colombia.

$50 on Germany

Historically, odds of successfully defending the World Cup are crap, hence reason #1 for me against Germany.

Secondly, Germany's odds are kinda boring here. Depending on how you like to read your odds, Germany is going at 5.00, 4/1 or +400 here. France and Spain on the other hand, are going at (6.00, 5/1 or +500) and (7.00, 6/1 or +600) respectively.

Also, Germany's recent form seem kinda crappy.
