Think I'll pair Linde with Lilina. New Aura is basically made for her. Linde would pair well with Merric, but that requires me to start hoarding him, and Soren is low upgrade priority right now. Merric seems to be better than him now, but Soren is much cooler

Merric will still be turned into feathers on sight for me. Soren isn't great, but I'm seriously considering +10 Soren if I can get some more copies

I've sent a bunch of Soren's home. When I use a green mage, it's usually for a specific purpose: Nino/Cecilia as everything-nuke, Julia/Deidre as dragon slayers, and Rhajat as horse slayer. I don't really use a green mage just for the sake of using one. While the Chill Atk aspect of Wind's Brand is neat, there's usually better usage of a green mage. I always imagined pairing him with Ike for that real special bond, though

I forgot to mention new Aura actually makes a +Spd Lilina build quite an attractive option now. That's (two) refinements done right

Well, I just like Soren. And he's definitely usable. Chill Atk and legendary owltome is pretty decent. He gives you the ability to run Life and Death a little more safely on teammate.

I have Soren, new Nino, Rhajat, Cecilia, Spring Camilla, Sonya, and Olwen as gree mages. I don't really need more...just the characters I like.

I mean, I still have some Soren copies. You get so many of him when going for green orbs, and he doesn't offer much in the way of SI, so I don't hesitate much to send him home

They didn't even care to give him a unique weapon to maybe make him suck less. Like, why even fucking bother releasing him at that point? I'd rather not get a character if he's going to be shit than get him as shit

+Atk/-HP Legault with like 30 orbs. Pretty cool I guess. -Res or +Spd would be better but I'm not complaining here. Kinda psyched myself into wanting Karla so I'm probably gonna be going for a bit more on this banner against my better judgment, though.

Summoning hell is over (for now). 99 orbs got me +HP/-Res Nino and +Spd/-Def Karla. Holy shit, Karla has 44 Spd unboosted with Spd boon! I finally get a new infantry sword toy after VL Ike. I basically got Ayra, since they look close enough and function about the same

Finally got a +Spd/-HP Cecilia to complete my 4*. Now still waiting to get that perfect Nino and Nowi to complete them.

6 Reinhardt's later and still no +Atk. Also got a couple more Hawkeye's and decided to keep them around for now. If he ever gets a refinement, he could become decent since he has good bulk

While we're at it, below are the characters I want refinements for.

You know it is going to happen eventually. Dragons already have a superior distant counter weapon. And some units like the new Ryoma don't even want to use their weapon

Ryoma is best with Firesweep imo. Or Wo Dao/Slaying Edge if you prefer. There's a lot of DC reds and his stats are perfect for Firesweep. Not being able to counter archers makes DC less valuable on him as well.

I usually prefer having DC over not. I'm of the opinion VL Ike is best infantry sword, and there's definitely bias involved here

Ike has self-heal. Not saying Xander and Camus need self-heal, but they've definitely been powercrept

I mean they've definitely been power crept a little but I don't think "is not as strong as one of the best Legendary Heroes" is the same as "needs buffs." Those two need to get in line behind like 90% of the game.

Horses also don't get steady breath. That makes more of a difference than the Aether cooldown. But let's keep it that way

Also I just checked out new Nino's stat spread.

Neutral speed is 38
OG's Nino's boon speed is 39

At first I was disappointed that I got a +Atk/-Spd flying Nino but then I realized that she has the same speed as my +Spd H!Nowi and 1 more speed than my neutral S!Corrin despite her speed bane.

36/35 offensive stats isn't bad at all.

The 1 CD difference between Aether and Radiant Aether is huge. Means that, using Warding Breath and Quick Riposte, you will always proc it on enemy intiation without needing to be doubled. It's easily the third best special in the game after Black Luna and Regnal Astra.

Flying Nino is my only bonus unit(Alfonse still at 4*) and my current core already has a ranged mage. Though the legendary tome might help?

I'll eventually make an entirely new core with easier merged units(not to mention better bst).

If only Ephraim demoted alongside his sister.

Man, I wish Ephraim had entered the 4* pool. I merged Eirika instead. I don't think there's anything in the 4* blue pool that I'd want to merge now

Yeah I find 4* Blue and Green pretty tough to get hype to merge. I'm aiming for Oboro but were Oboro red she'd be like 10th in line. 4* Ephraim or Nephenee would be nice. Ephraim I could easily see happening next batch of demotes at least.

Green is even worse. Cherche or bust and Cherche seems like a huge waste because she punts two stats. I'd merge Robin F if she ever got put in the normal pool. Vaguely considering Soren but again, were he a red unit he would hardly be on the radar

Closest thing in blue for me would be Cordelia, but her artwork keeps telling me no. Nephenee and Ephraim would be ideal for me. Or Valter if we were to get enough copies of him.

Green isn't so bad for me. I've done Fae and might do Soren, but don't have anyone beyond that.

Colorless is a problem too since I don't summon much from it. Legault would be ideal, but would take forever to do. The most of any colorless unit I have is like five Kageros

Yeah my Valter is already +4 so obviously he'd be auto in as well if I could get more copies. Colorless is stacked as hell for me and the only reason I'm not doing more colorless is cause I already have 2.5 with Matthew Serra and my +4 Grima. Otherwise Virion Setsuna Kagero Lucius Saizo Azama would all be fun targets for me. All those Grima draws have given me plenty of copies of each too.

I'd like to build a merged team to go along with Lilina, but all her most synergystic teammates are either also red or locked to 5*, which sucks.

i have a perfect candidate for blue merges but i haven't pulled a single L'Arachel since her debut. which i guess is not a huge deal gameplay-wise since blue is the only color i already have merges for with Corrin.

green is harder to decide. i've been leaning toward Titania but Camilla, Fae, Nino, Raven, Cherche, Cecilia are all possibilities. Camilla, Nino, Cecilia i already have 10 copies of but Titania, Raven or Fae would probably be more effective.

When combining characters, do they have to be the exact same copy of a character?

L'Arachel I could humour merging to +10, but the last thing my arena score probably needs after building a +10 mage is a +10 cavalry mage.

Best 3* to 4* greens are Nino, Sheena, Cherche, Soren, Raven, and Fae, all of which are very good. Its probably the best pool for getting strong 'budget' units from.

I'd like Bow Hinoka to go back on banner to give me an excuse to summon colorless. Merging Kagero would also be fine if I could get the copies. Or Innes if he dropped in rarity since I somehow have a +3 already

I started building up a Linde I had in my barracks today since her refined Aura lessens the blow of her being -Atk (plus it gives Lilina an every turn +6 attack buff), but alas, 5*.

I realise Merric has the exact same refine effect whilst being freely available, but screw Merric.
