45 y/o Former Liberal Actress, Cameron Diaz confirmed to the world that he has indeed RETIRED from acting as she hasn't been in a movie since Sony's 2014 remake movie "Annie" which was a minor success 133M worldwide.

There has been much speculation that the actress had stepped back from acting as her friend and 2002 Sweetest Thing co-star Selma Blair added fuel to the fire that her friend, Cameron was "getting out of the business"

Selma walked back on those comments and said she was JOKINGG but it seemed there was some truth to that as Cameron admitted she had retired from acting ever since she became a mom and wife to 39 y/o Good Charlotte rocker, Benji Madden as she's enjoying time away from Hollywood.

She had hit movies before her retirement including The Other Woman, Charlie's Angel, Bad Teacher, The Green Hornet, The Mask, Shrek, There's Something About Mary and My Best Friend's Wedding as she's mostly known for her comedic acting..

Piss-poor way to go out. And it wasn't a "minor success" since it pulled $133m against a $6578m budget when the rule of thumb is that the take needs to be at least double the budget.

In general, I like Cameron Diaz. She was smoookkiinnng in the Mask. I also enjoyed the bad-but-fun Charlie's Angels movies and, while the Sweetest Thing was fucking terrible even by rom-com standards, I still kinda liked it (although not enough to ever see it again). I kinda skipped Bad Teacher although, knowing that she's out of acting, I might go back to watch it at some point.

And, while she says she's quit acting, it's also worth noting that -- unless they're named Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, or Meryl Streep -- an actress's career starts to dry up when they hit their 40s.

I never quite understood what people saw in her. She was drop dead gorgeous in The Mask when she was an unknown name but that's pretty much it.

Speaking of women aging badly, I was kinda surprised by how Jessica Biel looks these days. I saw her on the cover of US Weekly and didn't recognize her at first.

Find hobbies? Travel the world with her $100+ million fortune? Set up a charitable foundation like many other retired business people/celebrities do? I mean plenty of people who have retired from their primary profession find ways to keep themselves occupied, I'd imagine if you're stupidly wealthy that becomes even easier.

yeah i know but collecting stamps or bird watching or whatever doesn't really take the place of being in movies or writing books or making music

it's just something to kill time and only to do if you have nothing better to do with your time

it would get extremely boring fast if you just have nothing going on in your life and all that keeps you going is some random out of the blue hobbies you picked up not to go insane

Just because you have a boring life doesn't mean everyone else has a boring life. Plenty of people still find things to do in their retirement, and plenty of people retire early.

You really don't know anything about it at all because you have never been employed or thought about retirement or really thought about living a real life at all. You're a 28 year old child. Not a man, a child.

You're not one to talk about meaninglessness when you have never had a single job in your entire life.

There are plenty of things that she can do that won't be meaningless. She can get another job. She retired from acting, but that doesn't mean she retired from everything.

Athletes tend to retire in their 30s, but they get jobs doing other things. Terry Crews, for example, retired from football and is now an actor.

Even if she doesn't want to get another job, there are other things she can do to occupy her time that aren't meaningless. You just think it is meaningless because your life is meaningless, and you have nothing else to base it on.

Who said she retired from those? I thought she retired from the movie industry. There's literally every other profession and hobby available. Also please consider that what you consider to be wasteful or boring might not be true for everyone. It's entirely possible that you might find the things you mentioned to not be meaningful or fulfilling long-term, but it's a bit myopic to think that your value judgments are the only acceptable ones.
