I think he's alluding to your skepticism of a blue wave for the 2018 midterms despite polls and special elections suggesting otherwise.

If he is referring to this, then yes, I do not value them. We have no actual polls for the majority of the races.

Saying well if Trump is doing worse than this amount it attributed this much to every single race across the board, I call a bit bullshit on that.

Most polls I have issues with are ones where they do not account for the electorate properly. I think there was an Arizona poll or something earlier this year where they polled 46% Dems 39% Republicans and 15% other.

I pointed out how that didn't make sense based on the electorate. Then someone said, that is how they turned out 4 years earlier. Which I said you can't just copy and paste 4 year old turnouts into your polls.

Another poll I had an issue with was the McGinty - Toomie poll. It just didn't appear to be lining up with expectations.

So yeah, some polls I take issue with.

However, I also was one of the ones who was posting RCP polls almost daily back before Clinton and Trump's election. If you remember, I said Trump had 0 chance based on them.

So, the comment makes no sense.

They are special elections in specific locations. Suggest you wait for some real polling on races when the time gets closer. We don't even have candidates yet for some of these.

Despite special elections err to the party not in power (as do midterms though not usually as much), a lot for these races had extenuating circumstances. For example, you had the saccone-lamb race where the outgoing seat was mired with a Republican controversy which forced him to resign.

Moore-Jones had a ton of controversy.

I mean, until we get polls on individual races, it is just your hopeful thinking that you can transpose some number and put it across the board to figure out how many seats you can win.

Those excuses don't really fly when there's one for almost every race...! (I will give you that Moore was far worse than can be expected, but there will be lots of candidates as bad as Saccone or as good as Lamb in November).

In any case, there weren't any such excuses in AZ-8 last week and the same thing happened as in the rest.

Trump postpones decision on imposing steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada to June 1

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/steel-tariffs-deadline-1.4641458

Canada's exemption period was officially set to end at midnight April 30. But late Monday, Trump decided to give Canada, Mexico and the European Union another month to work out a deal with the Americans.

The Trump administration issued a statement saying it had come to a final agreement with South Korea on steel imports and had reached agreements in principle on steel and aluminum with Argentina, Australia and Brazil.
