It would not have been a universally proclaimed dirtbag move if he didn't go to the West's superteam. Westbrook being an awful teammate certainly helps lessen that feeling in retrospect though. (Disclaimer: I personally don't consider the move to be a "dirtbag" thing--more just lazy and uninspiring.)

Agreed, have to downgrade to a least #3 in the league. If not #4. I have a tough time putting Durant above Curry, when the on/off splits are so stark between them this season in particular.

Also yeah, KD is just brutal. His defensiveness in the Simmons interviews is just so painful. I just can't understand it from someone in the position he is in. Why in the world one of the best players in the world is consumed with "blog boys" is beyond my comprehension.

yeah KD is so hilariously insecure and tries to cover it up with a huge veil of I don't care (while also using burner social media accounts what). I still like KD because I love his game but man he makes it so hard.

Westbrook got a bit of a pass last year because he kept that team afloat after KD dropped them cold. taking a team with two stars to essentially the same record and the same playoff result really shows poorly on him.

I think the only guy that can make it with Westbrook is a true alpha. anyone else just gets swallowed whole by him. KD has been hailed as that for forever and he clearly had Russ's respect. George and old Melo just don't compare. maybe if Melo was still 26.

I wonder how good Steven Adams could be on a team without Westbrook. he probably averages 13-15 rebounds a game.

I can't get into Milwaukee/Boston at all with how weird the pieces fit in Milwaukee and how injured Boston is. I've always expected Boston to win but ehh. Miami just seemed like their only chance was to try and ruin some careers and even that didn't work. looking forward to Wiz/Raps game 5 though.

Well, LeBron will have been in the league for 20 years by the time he's 38. He might just barely be hanging on the same way Kobe was at the end. Dude's got a lot of mileage on him compared to the average NBA player at his age.

1143 games at 38.8 minutes a game is a fuck load of mileage. Granted this is LeBron who is freakish but at some point it has to catch up with him right?

He's already 20th on the all time minutes played list and would be 3rd before the end of the 19/20 season if he keeps going at current rate

Is Miami supposed to just roll over simply because they lack the talent? No, they have a max player who can't get on the court and a bunch of average to above average players. They're maxed out in terms of performance you can get out of such players and it's not gonna look pretty against a next gen squad.

I dunno why, but they seem to refuse to tank and they're now in that dead middle of too good to be bad and not good enough to be great.

Built around Dion Waiter and Hassan Whiteside, not a bright long term future. I wonder how differently they build the team if Chris Bosh was able to become the main guy. You can't get much worse than career ending condition.

olynyk seems to be living up to his, at least, and winslow is a nice piece - but you need some sort of all-NBA talent(s) to compete for rings, and they're not there

Dragic and Olynyk are good deals I think, but the Tyler Johnson one oof. Reason I think they wouldn't have overpaid on everyone, is because they did let some guys go instead of overpaying them.

But they did panic on a few guys when they had zero stars on their roster.
