Only games that majorly focus on multiplayer should be exempt of story oh, I have never understood why people expect every game to have a campaign, even the ones that have multiplayer focus.

Without a main mode there'd be no game, just options/settings, at most a tutorial/training mode for something that doesn't exist and maybe, depending on the game, a multiplayer mode or in this day and age probably an online mode only, basically you'd get something like WarHawk for PS3, literally nothing more than an expensive drink coaster that could've been amazing if only it had any content whatsoever, alas they ditched the content during development and ultimately published nothing.

something like overwatch that has a lot of (or at least the potential for) a good story, it would be nice, especially if you like playing but don't always want to deal with toxic BS.

something like bejeweled or call of duty? eh who cares.and your reasoning makes no damn sense.

The only problem with this, is that Overwatch could have as much story as bejeweled or CoD and it'd be fine. But the makers smartly decided to have lore behind the characters. Which most likely does make some people enjoy the game more.

They don't, but if it was multiplayer only then the 50 RRP couldn't even be implied to be a fair trade.

Btw, what happened to the people claiming that PS3 games raising the price standard for games was only a starting rate? I'm still waiting for 40 RRP games again.

Sure it could. If anything, a multiplayer experience is more likely to give you more playtime than a single-player one would.

I agree with that. Most multiplayer games, I can sink hours and hours into. Usually, with a single player games, I can only get some many hours out of, depending on the game...

Not really the point, multiplayer inherently lacks content compared to a choreographed narrative. You don't pay more for a miata because you drive it more than an X5.

For note, Metal Gear Online 2 was released as a standalone game in Japan and its RRP was half of MGS4 as it did not have the rest to complete it.

I should've said story difficulty.

When the story has branching paths, your choices can affect the story. If you watch someone else play it, their decisions affect the story not your decisions. "Story mode" difficulty lets people that aren't proficient at the combat experience the story with their decisions still controlling where the story goes. This way it remains an interactive game you play, instead of becoming a non-interactive movie you just watch.

Do they need "story mode" difficulty. No. Does it hurt to have such a difficulty, no. Honestly, how does it take away from the experience of others to have such a difficulty in the game? Why should only players capable of playing on a certain difficulty be allowed to experience the story?

Depending on the uploader, some videos are mentally painful to sit through for various of reasons (i.e. uploader breathing, sneezing, coughing, random comments, music in the background, etc). If I want to "play" a game via a video, I'd rather there be no outsides interference and that includes the uploader him/herself.

they took out scoreboards to put in story mode. now you want them to take out story mode and put in needless grind. What is this a job?
