Blizzard did this too with all the skins for the new event, to combat dataminers/spoilers.

I kinda like this change of pace for companies. Plus if it were me, I'd build up trust for a couple years then completely fuck people up with fake spoilers.

And there won't be a need for week-to-week spoiling if the whole thing is already spoiled so what's the point lol.

Not sure if that video is serious, but... there were no spoilers for season 1, as far as I know, and I was heavy into the speculation scene. I hope this isn't for real, because the weekly spec was the best thing about that show, imho.

Yeah they just shot themselves in the foot. I'm all for combating spoiler culture but to go this far is just moronic.

If you cut off your speculative audience then you cut off all hype anticipation drive and energy that your audience has, they already know what's going to happen why would they speculate about it.

I mean like when you're going to see a play or opera, knowing what's going to happen ahead of time is irrelevant because it's more about how the producers and actors portray a story and add their own character to it.

But that doesn't really apply to a TV show. Again I'm probably missing something here.

We may have a difference in terminology, I guess. What I mean is that nothing was leaked. Many of the theories were well-supported and some were pretty much iron-clad, but it was all figured out through speculation, by watching the show repeatedly and looking for clues.

If this is a legit spoiler video then they've ruined the fun, imo. Someone with spoilers will try to look smart on the spec boards, guaranteed. Hopefully it's a red herring but I'm afraid to look.

oh, I get what you're talking about. in the question during the AMA, they referred to the rampant speculation that ended in the truth as being part of "spoiler culture"

but anyway, the video they released is worth watching if you're a fan of the show
