This makes me super happy. I'm hoping for both Crash and Spyro that the remakes get enough positive buzz for the folks behind them to decide to make an actual new game in that style, like the Sly remaster folks eventually did.

One of my favourite parts of the trilogy in hindsight was the music, it had such a cool consistent sound the whole way through it

I fully admit that 2 is a personal choice because I lost it, and didn't get it again until I got it on ebay in university. So I basically put it on a pedestal in that decade or so when I had no access to it - I'd replay 1 and 3 and be like "man these are great but 2"

But idk, when I played it I still thought it was great. I lost a lot of time to the skateboarding and like I said 1 had that terrific simplicity so I could make an argument for any of them

I think *that's* odd because 2 is when the series really begins to shine. 1 is a great game, and 2 improved upon it in *almost* every way.

And the way that it didn't improve on is an entirely subjective opinion of mine that I imagine most people wouldn't share.

I thought the addition of the new characters and slightly deeper story in 2 was hit and miss to be honest. Like I said, simplicity.

2 didn't have anything comparable to Gnasty's Loot or the Super Bonus Round, either. But the power-ups and abilities were mostly fun and gave you more ways to explore, so it probably is the best overall...I mean, just

I'm finally glad to see this series return to its roots. I never liked what it had become; simplifying gameplay to a beatemup and making the series dark and edgy. Not to mention all the Cynder fanfics and arts floating around.

Like, I'll start it and I'm really excited but then a lot of the orb mini-games aren't very fun and half of the stages aren't that interesting and I just wind up wanting to go and play 3.

See, a similar situation happened to me. I lost my copy in 5th grade, and didn't get a new copy until I was in college.

I always had it placed on a pedestal, but when I played it again... the environments were bland, the characters were a little cringe, the bosses were meh.

Spyro 1 had one gliding flaw that the sequels fixed, but other than that, it managed to provide great levels, amazing replayability, and all around... quality.

Spyro 3 was able to introduce new characters and different ways of doing levels and stuff, and by all means I wouldn't argue against someone who prefers it to 1.

But 2? Come on, 2 is the odd duck.
