I loved that show. Didn't get the exposure it deserved IMO. Wish there was more yuri in it though.

It was pretty nice, with just enough substance to keep me going. Now I'm watching Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau. Going into this one blind. Halfway through it and will probably finish it up today.

If you were expecting a bunch of mech action I can see why you'd be disappointed. Instead the show focuses on development of the characters and the structure of the world they live in. I have rather enjoyed what I've seen.

Dunno about the anime, but as far as the manga goes it's alright.

If you're a fan of Yabuki Kentaro and To-Love-Ru, you know he likes to bypass the censors by putting "reflections" of certain parts in subtle places.

Somehow, in the Franxx manga, he manages to outdo himself where it's almost blatantly uncensored but just manages to skirt the line so as not to get shut down. It's actually rather impressive.

I've been watching mushishi. I had watched the first 5-6 eps before but eventually put it down. It wasn't that I didn't like it, it's just so episodic and slow paced that there never really feels like any urgency or motivation to watch the next episode. Anyway, this time I'm up to episode 9. I think what blows my mind about this show is that the mushi DON'T teach lessons.

99.9 shows out of 100 the mushi would just be a way to get a message across. For instance, in kino no tabi almost every country they come to exists to examine some aspect of life. In mushishi however the mushi just do random ass things like real animals do and theres rarely any lesson to take away from any of it. It's nice though, it gives the whole show a sense of legitimacy, like it could really exist.

Anyways, the Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san manga's current arc is probably the greatest arc ever in Shounen Jump history.

It's basically Battle Royale for the harem, except they're shooting water guns which is actually the MC transformed by a curse, the liquid it/he shoots out dissolves clothes, and the guns gain more power the more the girls manage to excite the MC.

Also, one of the girls gets turned into a giant by a loli tanuki.

I've put mushi on hold for a bit. Watching re:creators. I'd put this off because I'd heard there were lots of plot of holes and I have very low plot hole tolerance and it's pretty much how I feared. They have not fucking once made mention of how the "creators" had no clue they were actually creating real people. You have to imagine far fewer people would write tragic backstories if they would come true. It's also a little unsatisfying how evenly matched most of them are. You take 10 random popular characters from video games and anime and chances are not one match up would be anything close to balanced.

They also stopped investigating how this phenomenon is happening almost immediately which is stupid. If you figure it out you could just write in an OP character that would join your side and autowin the conflict. The bad guys plan and white hair girl's understanding of it is a giant fucking leap at best and utter nonsense most likely. They just so quickly accept it as fact with not only no proof but not even anything pointing to it being the case. Absolutely no world restoration power has been shown in the slightest at all AND if this is really about authoring stuff anything is easy to handwave an explanation at so the world easily COULD make sense of literally everything we've seen in the show.

Also for some reason the government isn't trying to utilize this at all? You could make secret scientific advancements outside the public eye with the help of some scientist from the future character and then attribute it legitimate research and cure every disease and solve world hunger. Since "the masses" wouldn't know it would be no risk to world restoration.

Sigh. This premise is interesting but it either needs a LOT more rules to counter some easy win scenarios or to just go wild with it and actually do this stuff.

In a lot of ways it reminds of GATE but I think GATE was handled quite well where the premise is explored in ways that make sense and don't leave me feeling like people are ignoring really obvious and important things.

I'm only on episode 7 but even if it does get better it won't erase that it's been stupid thus far. Soundtrack and action are pretty awesome though.

Man sota might be the most unlikable character I've seen. He cuts off like 95% of his own dialogue with pauses. Just fucking talk you stupid bastard. His dialogue is probably more ellipses than letters. Now that I know the villains motivation its just petty and stupid and boring. Part of me hates that the soundtrack and action are actually good cause it keeps just barely dragging me into the next episode making me sit through more of this. The plotline with mamika's evolution as a character is actually pretty good though (at least thus far). Also got a yuri subtext moment in the episode I just watched so I guess the show isn't all bad.

This show is so damn stupid. All one of these people have to do is write a joke post about their character being able to stop time. Boom, everything solved. They stop time, defeat the bad guys, and all before it leaves the viewers mind because time is stopped. Why aren't they shutting down any new posts altair? Why don't they take down the entire website until this is finished? Why don't THEY submit stories about altair being weak or nice? Why did setsuna not fight the plagiarism charges? Why did she need to rely on him to ask if it was ok to draw? Why the fuck are people still creating stories and encouraging creating more stories when each one is fucking genocide? Why anything?
