A few days and 3 months and I can watch it. I'm also planning to rewatch the first 3 seasons when I do, as a refresher and cause it's a fun show.

I'm very prone to being annoyed by outcomes. I suppose I still need to play that game eventually. Blanc is the least interesting of the 4 goddesses with rom and ram being actively annoying and I have no interest in zombies so I haven't played it yet. Might some day though.

Man, I actually have things to watch now but I just don't feel like it. Not sure whats going on with me. I was pretty sick yesterday so maybe it's after effects of that. Not sure if I'm gonna watch overlord S2 or evergarden first. I wanna say I'm not in the mood for either one but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for much of anything. Hopefully this passes.

So I hear about a new show called Love To-LIE-angle on Crunchyroll that is supposed to be a yuri harem anime (!) ... and it ends up being a stupid parody short (less than four minutes per episode). Fail.

Alright, got myself to start violet evergarden. Just finished the 3rd episode which got some tears outta me. Definitely liking the show. I really appreciate the use of body language and subtle facial expressions used throughout. Violet's emotionless doll like appearance juxtaposes just how expressive everyone else is to great effect. Speaking of violet, jesus does this show make her look beautiful. Then again this show makes everything look beautiful but especially her. I think it's the eyes. While the story feels mostly mature theres still a few bits here and there that feel, idk, not quite perfect. I can't quite put my finger on exactly what just yet. That's minor though, I could appreciate this for the animation alone.

I think my issue was that some things felt like part of violet's personality was exaggerated and not what should be the result of her past. Like theres no way that she would be responsible for restraining that complaining guy or enforcing company payment. She would be doing things as instructed. It felt like they showed these types of things to be like "look, she doesn't fit into normal life cause military" but in a way that wasn't believable. The kind of thing someone might make up about such a person as a rumor only to have someone that really knows tell you thats not how it is.

I know it's pretty normal for anime military people to be constantly insubordinate but the show otherwise isn't normal anime so it stood out to me. I think the root of the issue is different though because it also comes across as incredibly convenient at times. The resolution to the doll class episode was probably the biggest case of this. It felt nice for things to end the way they did but come on, thats not how it really should have ended up and was frankly irresponsible. It feels like if the show ever has to decide between sensational emotion or logical consistency, it will always choose the emotion.

Still, all that is minor and I'm liking the show more and more. I would have liked to see more of the earlier jobs but eh, they are still showing me interesting things so whatever. In some ways the last 2 episodes really reminded me of kino's journey. You have violet traveling around to different places, in both cases with some unique twist, and then violet of course resolving the issues.

While I'm still only half way through I will say I'm kind of surprised. I thought it would focus almost entirely on violet and her growth into a normal person but outside the set up it seems like the show is a lot more about the temporary supporting cast than violet herself. I think thats part of what reminds me of kino's journey.

I'm pretty tired and feel like theres no need to rush so I probably won't finish the show until tomorrow. So far though, better than I expected.

Also, the official manga adaptation of Darling in the FranXX is drawn by the To-Love-Ru guy and has more nudity, breasts shown and privates cleverly censored (barely). Not even of just Zero Two. Feels CHEAPENED. You know? Idk

Damn, started watching violet evergarden again today and it got me right in the feels. Of course, I have been heavily depressed today and I've been drinking a lot so that isn't necessarily indicative of the show being good but I think it would have got me either way. I really appreciate the scenes where characters appreciate the beauty in things in this show. Sometimes its the way violet looks, sometimes its a scenic vista, this time it was a superhuman feat. That resonates a lot with me. Sometimes there are things that really take my breathe away and make me feel like theres obviously something worth it out there, even if I'm having trouble finding it. Good show.

i din't like overlord, saiki kusuo was actually pretty funyn though.

My only problem with saiki kusuo is that it's like sub reading hard mode. A bunch 2+ people speaking at the same time and super fast dialogue. It is really damn funny though.

The Persona 5 anime is happening today. (And so is the SAO spin-off that has no Kirito in it, for anybody who is interested in that.) This means that the standard Saturday server crash will be about ten times worse than usual at Crunchyroll, but I still aim to watch P5.

While I'm one of the few that doesn't hate kirito (for how much he is considered OP, he actually loses almost constantly), I'm kinda interested in this new SAO thing, but at the same time, gun gale online is the worst game they play. I'll probably watch it if it can stay above a 7 on MAL.

So the neat thing about this is it's written by a different author. In fact, it's the author of Kino's Journey.

"He loves to travel, ride his motorcycle, and is a self-professed "gun maniac"."

So I at least trust him to write good stories, and he likes guns. So it could be good. I flipped through the manga but never read it.

P5 anime is accurate to the game. So far, no surprises. This is my first time hearing the Japanese voices for the characters, though, and it is neat to see how that alters the character portrayals (e.g. Kamoshida sounds pathetic instead of menacing, Igor sounds about ten times as sinister, etc.).

yeah I agree. to be honest the crunchy subs are really bad about this, background conversation doesn't really matter a lot of the time and they sub it like, over top of the main conversation and it really confuses me. Considered just watching without subs cause I can understand japanese pretty well if they didn't talk so fast and use so much jargon

So I have a 20% off coupon and a buy 2 get 1 free coupon at gamestop that are about to expire and I was looking at a couple of games I wanted to get.

Planning on getting witcher 3 goty and twilight princess hd. But I'm also interested in getting Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.

Anybody here played it? I wanted to get some firsthand accounts before committing to it.

Also, I'd like to hear some suggestions on what games I should get if not that. I have an Xbone, Wii U, and 3DS.

Just finished episode 9 of violet evergarden. Seems like this really could have been the last episode. Seems unlikely it'll find a better end than this one. However, more episodes are left, time to watch them. I might come back to complain they didn't end it here.

Finished it. Was kinda pointless to have those last few episodes but it was still nice to watch. More like a long epilogue really. One of the better shows I've seen recently. I cried nearly every episode. A very dehydrating show. The art still blows me away. Everything is so beautiful looking, especially violet. Whatever I watch next is gonna seem so ugly. Probably overlord. Not sure if I want to rewatch S1 or not. I'll probably just refresh myself with a synopsis or something.
