Morgana is great tbh, I can't believe people take issue with things like him telling you to go to bed when it makes literally no difference since the game would have made you do it one way or another, you are all pretty flaky.

Maybe using the Japanese audio helped here because his lines never annoyed me either. I actually missed him when Futaba took over, I thought he was much better.

Someone of Morgana's archetype will always have mixed reception; he basically fills the role of the kid character and we have seen that one is a lot more miss than hit for most people here. I don't mind him and he's one of the few members of the main cast who felt fully-fletched and flawed in a way that was consistent with his character and the plot. The fight with Ryuji was kinda cringe but it was basically a plot device and it delved deeper into Morgana's insecurities in a way that made sense given who he is. I find him fun most of the time and especially pre-Makoto the one saving grace who injects some much-needed dynamism into the dialog between Ann and Ryuji who could be anyone given how straight they play their archetypes and Yusuke who is completely socially detached and mostly in his own world.

Haru is the sweetest of the P5 cast. The issue is you don't get a good first impression of her. But she's really great, and I like her character arc through her S-Link.

That said, Makoto still better.

For me, it's not really a craze, it's that she's intelligent, capable, and attractive in her own way (not designed to be hot like Ann, but designed to be maybe quietly alluring or just cute). Just a fantastic combination of character traits.

EDIT: Oh yeah and she's part of a ton of the best moments in the game such as Futaba creeping up

Makoto is a great archetype, and seeing her flustered is damn adorable, but she doesn't feel fleshed out like Naoto from P4 or Mitsuru from P3.

The point was that the non-party confidants are (with a very small number of exceptions) good enough that they don't actually need to be incentivized though.

Also Ryuji is a party member so he's not particularly pertinent to the point

Well, yes. Some P5 confidants stand up there with Mitsuru, both Dojima ones, and such from the other two games. But this game avoided the pitfall of, "Um, this guy or this kid really sucks. Do we just leave them there?"

Oh wow it really has been a year since release. Normally I wouldve played it like 3 times or so by now, but P5 wasnt anywhere as good as I hoped it would be. Gameplay was excellent, but the cast and group dynamic were just really really awful compared to P4. I mean part of that is P4 setting the bar way too high, but P5 felt soulless in the group dynamic aspect. All the usual Persona events were terrible in 5 and the cast spent way too much time texting you the same shit over and over instead of actually hanging out
