In a story published by Buzzfeed News on Thursday, Robyn Byrd and Katie Rice relay stories of being groomed as teenage fans of the popular early '90s cartoon show, only to find themselves pursued sexually by Kricfalusi, now 62.

Byrd says she wrote Kricfalusi a fan letter at age 13 and was elated when the animator then 39, responded. He sent her toys and visited her at the Arizona trailer park where she lived. When she was 16, she says, he flew her to his home in Los Angeles and touched her sexually.

Buzzfeed News writes that In the summer of 1997, before her senior year of high school, he flew Byrd to Los Angeles again, offering her an internship at his studio. She lived with him as his 16-year-old girlfriend and intern and after she finished high school, Byrd moved in with him at age 17.

Katie Rice, who also had dreams of being an animator as a teen, says Kricfalusi befriended her when she was 14, even attending her 15th birthday party. He was 40. Kricfalusi eventually hired her to work for him, beginning a long span of sexual harassment.

Rice ultimately left, she says, after he made a joke about raping her and she found child pornography on his computer.

15 and 16 are too old for a pedo, tbh. That's even past the AoC in some states. Although visiting a minor at a trailer park sounds all kinds of wtf. In general, a lot of these guys are former nerds and current losers who couldn't hook up while they were in school and, partly as a result, have trouble with women of their own age now so they pursue younger women who express an interest in them. That said, Buzzfeed also flat-out makes shit up non-stop so.... YMMV.

Yeah, dating/having sex with someone who is 15-17 when your out of your teens is kinda messed up in my opinion, especially if your in some form of authority over them (teacher/parent like woody etc), but it's not being a pedo.

Pedo's find children who are not sexually developed yet attractive. Actually not sure if that is a pedo, or if it's someone who actually does something about it.

I find young women attractive, but would not even date or do anything with someone who was under 25 at this point. I can say that with authority as I don't do casual and I have turned down someone that young who was interested.

Finding something attractive does not make you a bad person, no matter what it is you find attractive, it's doing something about it, especially something that impacts another in a negative way that does.

Finding a 16 year old girl attrctive when you are a 30 year old man? Understandable, it happens.

Entering into any kind of sexual relationship with that 16 year old girl, who doesn't even know who she is yet, and has a whole life ahead of her? I consider that wrong personally, but not everyone does.

But yeah, keep the term pedo for those who prey on children who have not sexually matured yet.

Definitely not "pedo". Though most AoCs that fall under 18 have some sort of limitations, generally speaking with the intent that the relationship not be "exploitative". This would have crossed the line, at least in Canada.

Plus AoC in California is 18 hard, with no near-age clause, not that it matters in this case.

It can indicate brain damage, disease, misdevelopment, and psychological trauma.

Even if a genuine pedo never acted on their scientifically fucked up desires, it doesnt mean I would give two fucks about that persons life or feel sympathy for the person with a messed up brain.

I believe with our lack of tech and understanding people can reach the point psychologically of no return for hope of societal rehabilitation, and are basically resource zombies with more potential to act out than average person at that point.

Pedos fall into this category.

Id still fight for their rights, though, because I dont toss out the rules just because somebody is my enemy.

To be fair, (younger girls) definitely don't require the same things a grown woman would come to expect from a man, either. Which as mentioned, someone like these guys might not be able to provide.
