I don't go by what critics say. They're just pretentious assholes that think they know what they're talking about/are bribed.

Grandma's Boy is one of my favourites, and RT gave it 16%, meanwhile the audience rating is at 85%. On IMDb it sits at 7/10. And a lot of the time the viewer rating is wrong, too. I like doom, but it has low ratings and is typically detested by most fans of the Doom games.

Year One. I thought it was hilarious and was surprised to learn that it was pretty much panned by everyone. It still has a 4.9/10 on imdb. I might be a little biased because I got a lot of enjoyment out of the DVD bonus features as well.

This is true. Happened with Wild At Heart:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_at_Heart_(film)

Early test screenings for the film did not go well; Lynch estimated that 80 people walked out of the first test screening and 100 in the next. At the time of its release, the film received mixed critical reviews and was a moderate success at the US box office, grossing USD$14 million, above its $10 million budget. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival,[5] at which it received both negative and positive attention from its audience. Diane Ladd was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes. It has since received some positive re-evaluation from critics.

Pretty sure we're all talking about movies that were poorly reviewed or poorly received by the general public, not just outright dumpster-fire movies like what you see on MST3K.

Though good job mentioning Mario Bros; I liked that one, too.

Other than some of the cinematography, Psycho is a kinda lousy movie, though. The big draw was the "shocking twist" and, it's worth noting, it's the example used by the MoviePooper when it talks about only caring about a movie's twist.

MK1 and Advent Children are pretty bad, though. Not everything has to be Troll 2 bad.

The absolute worst movie I've ever seen is probably A Night to Dismember, though -- granted, most of the problem was that significant portions of the film were destroyed by a disgruntled employee... but they chose to release the movie anyway, giving it a new story by dubbing over a lot of the dialog and patching in clips from other movies. I'm disqualifying Last House on Hell Street simply because I'm not sure it had a budget.

Mortal Kombat because it had some good fights and it contributed to making a few things canon within the games (Kano becoming Australian instead of Japanese-American, Johnny Cage becoming Goro's rival, Liu Kang and Kitana being into each other).

Plus, the plot was decent, even though it's basically a remake of Enter The Dragon.
