Make it 25-15 with Reggie healthy and him dropping 29 today after Andre Drummond got tossed.

The only way we are adding another starter is if we somehow end up with a top 3 pick. Re-sign Tolliver, hope for internal improvement, with Stanley being the guy who has the most additional growth potential imo. That's all we can do, but that would be enough to have a great season assuming health.

You mean the record we're likely to finish with while our starting PG was out half the season and we made a major reshuffling of our roster?

It's awful, yeah. They're right up against the luxury tax right now, and will only have 11 players under contract next year while being $6-8 million under it. Our owner has said he's willing to go into the luxury tax for a contender, I'm wondering if SVG can convince him of that.

Personally, I'd like to try and make a deal for Evan Fournier if Orlando is just looking to save some money. Something like Ish Smith and Jon Leuer for Fournier, put our full MLE towards a back-up PG and resign Anthony Tolliver.

So it's time for fun with line-ups!

4 of our 5 most used five man line-ups have net negative ratings (offensive rating vs. defensive rating).
Jackson/Bradley/Johnson/Harris/Drummond (-7.4)
Smith/Bullock/Ennis/Griffin/Drummond (-15.7)
Smith/Bradley/Bullock/Harris/Drummond (-12.7)
Jackson/Bradley/Bullock/Harris/Drummond (-12.2)

The good news is that 3 of those lineups are literally impossible for us to run out now, and if he doesnt resign, neither is the forth one.

Lets go to two man lineups!

Avery Bradley and Tobias Harris shouldnt ever be teamed up, apparently. They had a -7.1 net rating and have played the 6th most minutes together on this team despite only appearing in 40 games. This might be an Avery Bradley problem because Harris seems to pair up better with Drummond (-3.6) and Jackson (-0.9), not so much Johnson (-5.8).

If you wanna look to the future, Drummond is a +6.6 with Luke Kennard in 625 minutes together, +3.3 with Blake Griffin in 585 minutes, +0.6 with Reggie Bullock in 1300 minutes, -0.5 with Reggie Jackson in 904 minutes, and -2.0 with Stanley Johnson in 1237 minutes.

With those same players since February 1st? +4.5 in 280 minutes with Kennard in 280 minutes, Griffin is the same obviously, +2.7 with Bullock in 721 minutes, +7.6 with Jackson in 113 minutes, and +4.4 with Johnson in 517 minutes.

That sums up regulation. Nugs almost blew a 7 point lead with less than a minute left in OT too. Nuggets control their playoff Destiny now. And id much rather watch them than the wolves, so I hope they do It!

Meanwhile Pistons CLING TO LIFE!!!

losing to the bucks just sucks.

i mean given the injuries it's hardly expected to beat them, but a streak like that getting ended by milwaukee still sucks. a win would have made usurping the 1-seed tonight possible.

I watched it too. Very disappointing because it essentially killed the pistons season, but man, you guys basically didn't have a PG, it was a valiant effort. You had no choice but to run 1 on 1 isos all game.

2 seed might be better honestly. I'd much rather play the heat over the bucks in round 1.

It's disappointing since it was still winnable, but that "Brad Stevens Burst" wasn't quite enough this time.

I don't have a strong preference between Milwaukee/Miami/even Detroit. They're all dangerous to an inexperienced team missing its two best players and longest tenured member (Smart).

Milwaukee is beatable because they've just never figured out how to make it work with Giannis. Despite how dominant he is, he's still flawed because he can't shoot and can be frustrated into mistakes. That said, riding without Kyrie, he'll obviously be the best player on the court by far.

Miami doesn't seem to have A-line talent, but the Celtics are also missing that, and Spo is one of the coaches who can match Stevens. Plus they've got Olynyk the Clinic.

Pistons are out of contention now but I haven't forgotten that they got that W in Boston when we were as healthy as we've been and fresh off the win streak.

also, i'm sorry as a basketball fan that you had to watch that game

wouldn't surprise me if the Pacers win if Embiid can't be himself

the East feels pretty wide open this year with all the injuries and chaos but it probably ends with LeBron in the Finals again anyway

Kyrie is out the rest of the year. this was my concern for him -- that he isn't durable in the way that you want for a #1. it's smart of Boston to just take a knee for the rest of the year though. the deck was really stacked against them.

well, i still want to win round 1 and give lebron hell. but this fucking sucks.

also, i just made the mistake of thinking back to the last few runs the celtics made where i actually had expectations.

rondo ACL tear in 2013
avery bradley double-shoulder surgery in 2012
kendrick perkins trade and rondo's dislocated arm in 2011
kendrick perkins ACL tear in 2010
