For pure "defense" reasons, Shotgun for home and small handgun for personal are really all you realistically need. It kind of blows me away when gun people get upset with me because I just carry a 5 shot revolver as my conceal carry. Like...I'm not looking to get into a big shootout. And even if you don't personally own land, there's enough land to where people can pay to go on a weekend hunting retreat only a couple hours a way (or less) from where they reside. It's also one of our rights to defend ourselves. Living way out in "the middle of nowhere" or in a very small town, police can literally be an hour or more away. It's up to you to defend yourself. In some less fortunate cities, police can take up to 30 minutes to arrive in even dire emergency situations.
