my only issue with the game music contest is that the nominations feel like some sort of weird politics thing rather than just being about nominating / voting good songs

Game Music contest is a popularity/nostalgia contest. The last time they did this contest, a bunch of really good songs lost to really popular songs and everybody bitched about it.

It's best to just leave it alone. I don't think most people here know much about good composition if it hit them in the face

I dunno if I'd say it's all popularity, there's definitely some of the common hits but if you look through the bracket there's also a bunch of stuff from random barely-known games that gets surprisingly high

Two episodes of Nanoha ViVid down. This season is definitely way cuter and more lighthearted than StrikerS was. Everything is so damn cute!

And oh yeah, there's gonna be awesome fights later on too. I won't be stopping to make gifs anymore today, so hopefully I can at least get halfway done with the series. I'm definitely anticipating some awesomeness to go along with all this cuteness.

Hmm...well I don't know if it's exactly that but I'll also drop my support for overlord. The main character gets trapped in an mmo that had it's servers shut down, although he focuses less on trying to get back home but more on making his new home on that world.

It's a neat little video game music popularity contest held on B8 each year. Right now we're currently in the song nomination phase (a lot of people consider this to be the best part of the contest), and all the rules are in the thread.

As for the aforementioned drama, sure it's there but the participants are all pretty chill from my experiences. It's nothing worse than CE getting upset over Snake's ass landing runner-up >_>

I can vouch for these two being fantastic shows. Also, if you're okay with characters going into a fantasy world and not necessarily being trapped there, I'll also recommend Flip Flappers, Black Rock Shooter, and (if you have the time for a longer series) Inuyasha.

Made it to episode ten. I love robot shows but ugh. Toei really knew how to ruin a concept.

I think I might re-watch Macross 7 instead. I've got an idea for an article on that I've been meaning to write and shop around, which might be manageable after I refresh my memory on the specifics.

So my Jack's NP hit a grand total of 0-5 (somewhere around that range) on the final boss of the first day of this Count of Monte Cristo event and the support Count died on the second wave. This is gonna be rough...

Yo Xenoblade 2 big ass NG+ update might happen today. So freaking hyped, can't even.

I can't wait to use Ahkos. I thought I would hate that guy from the trailers and the early cutscenes. Little did I know he'd be my 2nd favorite Torna member. NoA posted the summoning animation for him. Pretty freaking cool.

Yeah my personal favorite is Jin because his motives are a lot more complex if you really read into the small comments from various members who knew him. But Ahkos is so great. I can appreciate people that are sentimental to a fault, since I'm basically the same way
