MvCI seems a little shaky but i'd still bet on it because of the history the franchise has

tag will have been out for like a month and its my big surprise pick

and im thinking mvci at least makes it this once

i can see them not bringing back Melee at this point because of logistics and how the Smash scene is pretty separate than the other games

but yeah despite what i said earlier about logistics, it's not getting dropped as long as it's getting numbers

I love watching Melee every year, I think it's still exciting

yeah Smash 4 feels like the game we could drop at this point

it's probably better than mvci from everything I've heard about that community. that game is just a wasteland and Capcom is not even trying to support it (probably because disney)

I'm not that mad at MVCI not making it, but I am kinda annoyed about BBTAG

Releasing too close to the tournament, and looks to have the same issues people had with MVCI: mostly reused content, slim roster, and unappealing DLC scheme. Either MVCI or UNIST would have been more suitable picks.

Given how reluctant Nintendo was to allow EVO to stream Melee at all, it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo was making Smash 4 a package deal with Melee.

And...eh, I don't know many people my age who watch smash 4, but I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people who play it; they probably get a lot of signups from it. (Younger crowd than Melee, but there are 16-year-olds alive today who weren't born when Melee came out, so...).

Injustice still in over MvCi. I'm all for taking Capcom down a peg and I enjoy Injustice but does it really have that kind of popularity in the tourney scene?

The thing is that INJ draws in a couple hundred folks who only play that game (and Mortal Kombat) and wouldnt otherwise come. Whereas a large portion of the MVCI audience will still be there for SFV and/or DBFZ anyway

Same with having both Melee and Smash 4, you get two fairly distinct crowds -> more money from entrance fees and spectators
