Gambit is the winner over Rogue in both categories, total votes (42 to 34) and unique user votes (12 to 7).

So it is my pleasure to declare Gambit as the undisputed Winner of this 30 Round Save Some X-Men Characters contest.

The only time Gambit seemed to be in any real danger was way back in Round 17 where he was 3rd to last to being saved for that round. Other than that, it was smooth sailing for Gambit for the whole contest.

Maybe we should do more X-Men contests on this board? I can't remember if I did one like this years and years ago. There were still quite a lot of omissions from the big character list and I thought Round 1 was a mess. I should have started with a huge list instead of adding all those characters in during that round.

I enjoyed all the twists of the contest, made it fun and unpredictable. But definitely the early rounds were very messy, especially starting off with real names only.

Good winner. Definitely one of my favorites in the field and about the only one I ended up voting for ever only very casually following this.

I enjoyed the twists too. It was fun getting Morph into the top 10, and although I would have preferred Rogue to prevail, it was a very good final.

I enjoyed the twists but have one suggestion:

Keep the twists thematic if you're going to do them

Having someone from Big Brother in an X-Men contest felt weird and really out of place. Would've been cooler to see something like Scarlet Witch changing reality or Sentinels interfering, something specific to X-Men.
