It works for me. Try going into AdBlock's options and looking for the checkbox that allows for "non-intrusive advertisements," and then make sure that box is empty. Taboola Ads should go bye-bye.

Is adblock still being updated? I thought ublock origin was its successor.

YOU'RE MY HERO.

I thought I unchecked it before. Either I forgot, or I missed the negative in the option and thought it meant the opposite.

Funny how even after blocking it manually, it still allows it because it's 'non intrusive'.

wonder how much they paid adblock to allow a non intrusive option anyway

Best option as no matter what you do with adblock they still creep through.

taboola is the banner ads at the bottom - AdBlock by default (now) allows non-scripted ads through, since they're typically inoffensive.

wdym theyre non scripted?

dumb that even after manually blocking, it still allows

i did disallow the "allow nonintrussive ads" thing today, still didnt work. or it only blocked the images, not the annoying text

and "typically inoffensive" smh, i could easiyl see those being more and more annoying

anyway main question is bolded

Pretty much this, so at most you get a relatively safe cookie showing that you saw the ad, and no actual adware/trojans like we've seen mucking up the internet since the turn of the millennium.

Yeah it's a silver lining, and I can imagine it being stretched and abused where ad people are like "this is non intrussive" while still hijacking half the page.

get a relatively safe cookie showing that you saw the ad

if you simply scroll on a page and an ad appears, that counts as a view to them and they get Money for it? your eyes could be not even looking at it HAH

Taboola crap is definitely scripted, as seen by using NoScript as an "adblocker".

hosts file would be more definitive in blocking domains. also try programs that are usable outside of the browser to block domains.

as for firefox (desktop), i use both noscript and adnauseam for now.
